Seeing Pats open as a -6.5 or -7 point favorite.

Buffalo is 3-0, but as much as we say NE hasn't played anyone yet, well neither have the Bills. They have a 1 point win over the Jets, beat the Eli-led Giants, and needed a late score to beat the craptastic Bengals today.

However, they have an active defense, so I don't think the Pats will be dropping 35+ on them.

But they might.

Only battle of 3-0 teams in Week 4, although Lions are 2-0-1 against the Chiefs

2-0 at MetLife, 1-0 at New Era Field. 3-0, 2 road wins and they haven't left New York. Their defense won week one, in the comeback against the Jets or their 4 turnovers(none since week one) would have made this start less interesting.

Ex-Pat Brian Daboll is OC, running Erhardt-Perkins. They've got good mismatch personnel to run the offense, and a nice combo at RB with Frank Gore/Devin Singletary 36/1775 on the ground today.

It has been a very favorable schedule, but Sean McDermott is one of the best young coaches in the NFL. Bills look good.

They have a young quarterback, a solid run game, and a fantastic defense. They've been playing far too conservative at the half and second half because of this. It almost cost them the game today. It will burn them this week. Pats will shut the run game down, and Allen has a couple second half interceptions trying to make plays.

Buffalo should be competitive for a playoff spot but unless Edelman and someone else are both out next week this shouldn't be a real challenge.

I don't think Buffalo's defense will be enough unless they just abuse the LT and the Pats can't adjust. Seems like a game you'd expect to see a lot of White / Burkhead.

Bills are about the same as last year, but our weakened O line is a concern. I remember they really slowed us down at Xmas time last year in Foxboro.

This is the first game I really wish Gronk was back with the team. However, I'll take a healthy Cannon, Edelman, Gordon, and Hightower.

I'd like to see Gordon get a few more "easy" catches.

11 targets and 6 catches, with 2 of those requiring superhuman efforts, isn't terribly efficient.

He did drop a couple catchable ones early on but ultimately think he is going to have a greater degree of difficulty given his role. I do agree that it’d be nice to get him into a good flow more.

Romo is at least a new voice. The same guys year after year gets haggard.

That’s BS. They must be doing Minnesota/Chicago because it’s a 4:25 game.
In fairness, Minnesota/Chicago is not only a 430 game, but also a significantly bigger pair of markets than Buffalo and New England. Plus CBS owns the local stations in both Minneapolis (WCCO) and Chicago (WBBM).

Fouts was on the Dan Patrick radio show today, talking about the great relationship he has with TB12 and BB. You'd hardly know

I don't think Fouts hates the Pats, he's just terrible at his job. Fouts can't even follow what's happening on the field half the time, never mind actually adding value in terms of explaining how one team is attacking the other. I know people are mixed on Romo but I like his enthusiasm and he tells me stuff that I don't notice on my own. Nantz isn't my favorite but contrary to popular SOSH opinion I don't think he's rooting against the Pats or hates them either.

Yeah, I don't think Romo has any bias, he just gets excited when things footbally happen and is really good at the whole, "Oh...out of this set they really like to play action and hit the Y receiver on a post!!".

He has no reasons as far as I know to be anti-Patriots.

I was doing a little reading on Two Bills Drive and they tell me that Josh Allen is "willing to do whatever it takes" to win on Sunday, so we're fucked fellas.

I’m not sure Fouts has always been awful as an announcer. My memory is that @Chad Finn was something of a fan as recently as a few years ago. Part of me wonders if the game has sort of passed a guy like him by. Even though he played the “smartest” position on the field, offenses and defenses do things now that he has no point of reference for having retired 32 years ago.

A similar thing happened to Phil Simms who most fans now hate but was generally pretty insightful in the years immediately following his playing days. The game evolves so quickly that I think it presents a challenge even for guys like Collinsworth who, if nothing else, are hard workers and students of the game. So what happens is:

1) Understands how the game is played, knows and has competed against players personally

2) Game begins to change, most competitors begin to retire

3) Game evolves significantly, maybe they watch game tape to keep up, relationships are almost exclusively built on in-week interviews

It’s not hard to see why this kind of thing has a shelf life. The same thing will happen to Romo eventually.

Not sure I can blame Fouts for this, but I really want to. At one point during the broadcast, they showed the 3 touchdowns Brady threw. The problem was that even though the Pats had scored 3 TDs, one of them was a running play.

Nevertheless, Fouts used to be OK, but now when he is not being blatantly obvious, he is stating incorrect facts. He does it all the time.
