as we approach the final 2 months of the season, pretty crazy that (according to my eyes) only 3 teams have not won a week this year and one of those teams sits in 4th place

I put the Current Week flag on the Standings page as an easy way to update the scores but for the last few weeks I'm going to have it active during the tournaments so we can see a live picture of the final standings. Should make things more interesting to follow down the stretch but don't be alarmed if the standings page is changing constantly.

It’s early this week, but I have 5 guys going in a 63 man field and all 5 are 1 pointers, 3 of them in the 50’s range well off any sort of significant back-door possibilities. Kinda sums up my year. I was lucky to pick off 2 regular events (1 thanks to add/drop), but I try to build my team for majors and wgc’s and, welp, my team took a giant dump on the those events this year. 0fer at the PGA, 2 at the US Open. JB Holmes last week represented my best chance but he shot the most predictable 87 in history to only get a point.

Looks like JB Holmes missed the cut, at least according to the CBS Sports leaderboard.

Since it’s looking like there are 5 guys with a legit chance to win this thing we need to talk about the Tour Championship. They are doing it the weird way this year where you start at a certain number under par depending on your fedex cup position.

I think the only way to do it is to keep track as if it was a normal tournament where everyone started at even. Shouldn’t be hard to do ourselves with only 30 players in the field.

Every one in favor?

Interesting, not sure what the right solution is on it. Seems like in that scenario you may have someone win our virtual tourney because they go out early on a Sunday, shoot a 63 with no pressure, and end up finishing 6 or 7 shots out of the lead in the real tournament, thus winning our event and finishing 11th. In some ways it feels like awarding points / money for whoever has the best 4th round at a major

Maybe we treat it as 2 tournaments with half points for both. So half the points awarded based on fire alarm standings, and half based on event only score

That can happen now. Someone goes out and shoots a early Sunday 62 to backdoor a top 5/10 and win someone a week.

I don’t really have a horse in this race, but Zomp’s suggestion seems fine to me.

Yeah I don't see a better way either, unfortunately.

What an asinine decision by the Tour.

happy i got the win, but now i am clear out of the bottom. Have to hope Tiger wins both remaining events so @johnmd20 can leap frog me

I would have bitten your hand off for 40 points over the past three weeks but Vegas is still going strong. I said it before but its amazing what he's done with probably the worst or second worst first round pick of the draft.

Still 5 or 6 people who have a shot at being in the money but Vegas has a clear advantage. This week is the big one. Lots of moves can happen.

Pretty great how much parity there has been in our league this year. One big win from one team is all it would take for a lot of guys to come from behind and take the whole thing.

I am proud of my team, they really did the job this year.

My 3rd round pick literally sat out the year. Probably should have done a little add dropping there. Another, Hagy, scored a point. And Tiger basically stopped playing. So it was tip top across the board. Beau Hossler was a major disappintment, as was Bae. Hovland, a pickup in the 2nd add/drop period a few weeks ago, was my 3rd highest scorer.

Not Good.

hoping my team (Patrick Reed) can go on a sick run like Billy Horschel did for me a few years ago and win me another week from the bottom

This year has had such parity it is pretty amazing. Everyone except 2 people have won money. The leader has only won one tournament. The two at the bottom have each won $100. Five people have a "shot" at winning. Lots to watch in the last two tournaments.

Oof. What an epic collapse by my team.
Well I ended up with 2 in the field with number 28 and 29. I do wonder what kind of pressure the guys at the bottom will feel when they come out already down by 10 strokes. Might be some guys pressing and either blowing up or going low but I doubt they play anything safe.

I don't see how this puts the guys at the top at anything but a disadvantage with regards to our league. Like you said, the bottom guys may press because what do they have to lose. But take someone like Koepka. He could shoot -5 and win while the 28th guy shoots -6 and loses.

For this year there was no other way we could do it, but I wonder if we just scrap the last event next year?

That's not a bad idea scrapping this last event and starting a week earlier haha, gosh i love this

I can’t believe it but Rory got me second.

Congrats Vegas on an awesome year. Top to bottom you had the best team.

TFP and I have already talked about getting it going for next year so we’ll have a discussion up after the payouts. TFP will handle the cash again but I’ll take over commish duties once more.

Best fantasy league I’m in.

I can't believe my team choked so bad that I ended up in 3rd. Stupid sprinkler and Rory wins.
Congrats everyone, especially VSF. Heck of a season!
I will need to think about if I am coming back next year. I am probably just pissed that my team choked, but I will let you guys know.

Edit: This is an amazing league and a ton of fun.
2nd Edit: If I don't come back, it would only be because I spend too much $ on fantasy in general.

Always a blast, congrats to VSF. Impressive win especially with a dud of a first round pick.

Looking forward to next year. I will not be drafting Sergio Garcia. Never again.

Favorite fantasy event I take part in. My team was so middle of the road but excited for next year. Maybe I will get my first favorable draft position.

It was fun, my failure, a Master win and then nothing, was a perfect mirror of Tiger's year in general. On Brand.

So it looks like I won 150, so I'll just roll that over to next year.
