Giants are also interested. (37th overall which might be a slight overpay considering the other offers, but the Gmen do have #6 and #17 to take the sting out of no 2nd rounder).
Be just like Eli to Screw us again, but this time by sucking.

I'd guess that being in the AFC is an advantage for LAC and NE much like the NFC seemed a preference IIRC for BB in the Jimmy G. trade. The Cards may feel differently, but I haven't read anything on that yet.

I haven't seen Austin Hooper's name mentioned at all. He could make a lot of sense for the Pats in a trade if they don't see any sure things in the draft. This year will be the last year of Hooper's rookie deal.

Maybe if Atlanta drafts a tight end high. But they have nothing behind Hooper on the depth chart, so I don't know why they'd want to get rid of him.

I'd rather take Sanu.

BB also traded Drew Bledsoe within the division.

True, but I think he thought he could handle Bledsoe (and he did for the most part). He seems to have liked Jimmy a lot and might have wanted to avoid regularly running into his skillset. Or he just thought SF would be a good fit and wanted to do Jimmy a solid. Or some of both. BB's confident in his abilities and assessments. I'm not sure if the Cards' coach and GM have that same confidence and it may influence their decision making.

If they were worried about being in the same conference as Josh Rosen, they wouldn't be dumping him during his rookie deal to draft another QB.

Would the pats try and trade for Duke Johnson? He would Be useful as a pass catcher.

(He has asked for a trade)

Edit: he said last year he would 100% rather be a slot receiver than a running back

Deep at running back can also mean crowded. But Johnson has a solution to help himself get more touches.

“I want to be a slot receiver,” he said via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “I’d rather be a slot receiver than a running back, 100 percent.”

It’s something he has done for Cleveland already in his first three seasons. In fact, he was the Browns’ starting slot receiver in the season opener last year and played the entire game there. Johnson led the Browns with 74 receptions last season and has hauled in 188 in three years.

Johnson elaborated on his statement.

“It’s fun for me, if I’m being honest. Running back is OK. It’s getting fun because they’re allowing things that make it fun for me. But, if I had to go out there and be strictly a running back, no pass catching, no creativity, then that would suck.”

Hmm, slot receiver would be interesting if we thought he could be effective in a full-time role their. Always felt that Cleveland didn’t utilize him enough.

Seems like any brown traded to the patriots does well. At least in recent memory.

Duke Johnson has a 3M cap hit. Seems like a lot for either the third RB or second slot receiver.

Do you think on other message boards, people are suggesting their team trade for Julian Edelman, Joe Thuney, Devin McCourty, and/or Kyle Van Noy because they're on the last years of their contracts with us?

To be fair, this is a thread about potential trade targets. Also, the Seahawks only have four picks in the upcoming draft. They also have about $12 in cap space (top 51) and a quarterback who wants a new contract.

And Nick Vannett is nowhere near the caliber player that those guys mentioned are.

I have not understood the Rosen appeal since day one. In Bill we trust if they acquire him but it should say everything that they have as much draft ammunition as they do and haven't pulled the trigger.

It takes two to deal, and Arizona is likely to kick this to the eve of the draft and rightly so.

If it’s handling this right, Ari should (1) try to max out the value on a Rosen trade (2) auction the # 1 pick (3) compare the two returns and see how much they like Murray > Rosen, assuming they do like Murray > Rosen.

BTW, I am not taking at face value the transparent Gettleman leak that the Giants may be fine with Eli for 2 more years. It’s lying season.
