Pleasantly surprised for Lowry that he kept the wheels on after the first hole today. But it made for another rather less than interesting major - Tiger nothwithstanding, it was definitely not the most dramatic year of major championship golf.
Brooks was pretty diplomatic regarding JB’s slow play. He said it’s not that JB takes long, it’s that he doesn’t do anything to start his routine until it’s his turn. He added that JB’s not the only one to do it.
That is infuriating, no matter who you're golfing with. Koepka put it something like, "I take my shot and turn around and I see JB is just putting on his glove and hasn't even started his routine."
Put on the glove JB, WHILE your partner is taking his shot.
For one thing, it’s not true. J.B. also takes forever between everyshot once he finally starts his routine, from a million practice swings to plumb-bobbing two foot putts. And I’m not sure how that’s diplomatic, anyway. Whether he’s slow because he doesn’t start until his turn or because he reads every putt from 12 angles doesn’t really matter. He’s slow. And Brooks rightfully called him out for it.
when you consider his life's story, coming back to win on the tour after brain fucking surgery, one would think JB Holmes would be looked at as some sort of hero.
Honestly, in all my years of watching Golf i can safely say there isn't one guy that I have hated more or rooted against. Case in point was the 1st tee Sunday, he is introduced, looks down the fairway, puls a club, takes several practice swings, steps behind the ball, stares down the fairway, finaly addresses the ball and pounds it OB
That was the begining of Slow Play Karma, look I know everyone has their own pre-shot routine, and Ive been known to take a little time but Plumb Bobbing a fucking tap in? I only wish he had fucked up the front side a little more to blow past Duval's 91

Using a putter as a plumb bob is a weird practice since putter shafts generally don’t hang straight down.
