That was 30 minutes ago. Both teams can point to a play or two that should have gone their way. The delay of game was indefensible and they had their own destiny in their own hands
Generally I agree, but the NFL has invested in that whole review setup for the last 2 minutes of each half...and nothing.

But how can you? it clearly happened well after the whistle.
It wasn’t egregious considering the noise and the Seattle guy stayed on his feet, even Colinsworth thought it was soft. That play happens a bunch and rarely gets called. He was clearly just trying to block, not deliver a dirty hit.

But it happened too long after the whistle. And as for the crowd noise, that's part of the HF advantage. If your fans scream so loud that it cause the opposing defense to make an error that's not an excuse for a late hit. (Unfortunately tonight it looks like Seattle lost the game because of the noise too - On that delay of game)

Was the sneak there for Wilson on the spike play?
There was plenty of time left for two plays...if they had practiced them or something. I thought he was going to do it. But then, again, without the delay of game penalty, they have two plays from the one. Three if they throw on one of them (heh-heh)

I guess in general as a 49ers fan I’m not inclined to give Seattle the benefit of the doubt on missed calls considering they defensive held us to death for a decade. I’ll concede on this one haha

I'm curious for the explanation on the delay of game... at the end of the day the 49ers made their stand, by an inch and the usual reffing on PI. Seahawks had no business winning, just like everyone will say now the Pats had no business getting a bye...

It seems like every game has a good half dozen plays that are arguable in terms of what the refs saw or didn't see. And add to that what they decide to review or not. Someone earlier in the game reasonably questioned why they reviewed a possible lateral/incomplete pass yet they can't even review to make a correct spot on what was probably a first down. There Are a lot of mistakes made for sure by the officials. It always comes down to which team overcomes all the adversity from the other team, their own mistakes and the refs missing things.

not with the potential of your backup now starting left tackle being hurt. You lose him and there really isn’t another remotely passable option at LT

I thought they got screwed by the injured lineman. At the time it seemed like they halted the game to look at him but apparently not.
If he had stayed down and had had to be tended to, that would've been a 10-second runoff and he'd have had to miss a play, right? So they were in a really bad spot there -- he sacks up and they lose 5 yards (but he can stay in the game) or he stays down and they've got about 12 seconds left with the ball on the 1.

Underrated move - Shanahan not using any time outs while Seattle was driving, even when they appeared likely to score.

Not to mention all the obvious holding calls on their line. Couple block in the backs missed too

in reference to the no PI call in the end zone I thought the Seattle receiver initiated a lot of contact first and had he not done that they’d be def PI or maybe no contact at all

Hahaha. Love the 49ers fans showing up after the game to talk a bunch of bullshit about Hollister initiating contact. Just admit it was a horrible no call and be happy with your win.

Hopefully Seattle finds a way to win next week to give us the rubber match.

Hindsight and all, but things were so bizarre leading up to the spike, had Wilson fake-spiked it and ran to his right, I think he gets in

He could have. The Niners were certainly ready for a quick QB sneak, (they had 8 guys in the middle of the line in two rows of 4 within a yard or two of the LOS) so they would likely have been unprepared for anything else.

Not sure -- the clock was stopped on the spike, so I'm not sure if the 10 second runoff applies.
I believe 10 second only applies if the clock would have been running and was stopped by a offensive penalty (which stops the clock) or the rare 4th timeout (injury).

Correct no call. If anything offensive pass interference happened first. Ball was in the air and receiver was pulling in defensive back. Sure Seattle fans want that but clearly it was a good no call in that situation.
