"There were fouls against both teams. By rule, um... well... uh, we'll continue playing football I suppose?"

What the hell? That touchdown was as clear as any I've ever seen. This must just be an excuse for a commercial break, right?

Rivers hasn’t been close on any of these throws. Has he been this off all game?

Fitting end. Can’t remember the last time I saw that many bad throws in a row.

Shocking that Phillip Rivers has never been in a Super Bowl. Shocking.

Did Rivers decide since Flacco is out for the rest of the year, he had to assume the mantle of just chucking it up deep and hoping for PI? It doesn't work that way, Phil.

I don’t know what the play calls were but they seemed like they thought they needed a tad and not a fg

A Mahomey setback and Raiders have a shot at the division with their schedule

Chargers really were a one-year wonder.

I feel bad for Rivers but if they don't get down 10-0 early, they win this game easily.

Easily? They were down 10-0 because Rivers threw a pick 6. Then he goes 0 for 8 on the last possession. He's got 14 TDs/10 INTs on the season.

What year was that, 2006? Or were you talking about the other Los Angeles team? Because they had the #4 point differential in the AFC last year, only marginally ahead of both HOU and IND. "wonder" isn't the word I'd use, they were meaningfully the same as the 2017 team that went 9-7.

Random nugget: the Giants and Jets have combined for 292 wins (including playoffs) since the start of 2001. The Pats have 258.

Here's the Chargers seasons since 2000:
Year W L
2019 4 6
2018 12 4
2017 9 7
2016 5 11
2015 4 12
2014 9 7
2013 9 7
2012 7 9
2011 8 8
2010 9 7
2009 13 3
2008 8 8
2007 11 5
2006 14 2
2005 9 7
2004 12 4
2003 4 12
2002 8 8
2001 5 11
2000 1 15

I'd say they were less of a one hit wonder and had several decent teams during the late 2000's. The Chargers 2018 seems to be the outlier. So I disagree with the one year wonder notion unless you mean this decade.

I can't get the alignment quite right, sorry about that.
