Early read on Sunday's weather. Very cold. Area of low pressure south of New England. For now looks to stay far enough south to prevent a snow storm, but bears watching.

Huh? The Chargers moved the ball at will? They had so many red zone opportunities because their defense kept giving them a crazy short field and they couldn't do anything with them. They only had 244 yards of offense.
Well that's what I get for only half paying attention to the game, Death.

Lucky for them they get to play against the Patriots defense next week.

Will be interesting to see if NE can run against those light boxes SD used to stop the BAL run game if they run a similar D. No idea how they did it with all those S playing down in the box. I think BAL OL just missed a lot of blocks that NE isn't likely to do.

I hear you. The Chargers kept getting the ball after turnovers, or after their kick returner had a long run back, etc. I'm guessing their average starting field position was probably around their own 40, if not better. If they could have done anything offensively, they would have won by 20 points easily. Their offense let the Ravens hang around, but of course, the Ravens defense had a lot to say about that. They're really good, and why I wanted no part of the Ravens next week.

What's the line next week?
Seeing Pats -5....

Betting Trends to Know
The last time the Patriots didn’t have a bye week, Matt Schaub led the NFL in passing yards. Needless to say, it’s been a good run for New England.

  • For the 35th time since 2003, Brady will start a home game on more than a full week of rest (more than seven full days). The Patriots are 31-3 (91.2%) straight-up and 19-13-2 (59.4%) against the spread in the previous 34 games, covering by 5.2 points per game. The only three quarterbacks to beat Brady in Foxborough in this spot? Russell Wilson, Mark Sanchez and Peyton Manning.
  • Philip Rivers is 0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS in Foxborough and 1-7 SU and 2-6 ATS against the Patriots overall. But he’s 0-4 SU and ATS against Brady over the past decade, making him Rivers’ least profitable opposing quarterback over that span.

Depends what metric you're using here. FO has them as just barely above average (16th for the year, 13th weighted for recent games). Baltimore was 3rd, 4th weighted. Both of those rankings pass the smell test for me.
I use the same one that Bill Belichick uses. Points scored against.

A lot of Baltimore fans might be pissed they left this one.
Left early to drop my son at BWI and because it didn’t look like anything resembling a competitive game. Maybe the worst coaching game of Harbaugh’s career. You cannot lay this off on the OC.

My preferred Pats opponent won. Now we’ll see.

You and me both. I should definitely be more concerned about seeing a team like the Saints or Rams in the Super Bowl, but if we're lucky enough to get there, and it's the Eagles, I won't sleep for two weeks.
Oh please, everyone said the same thing about Eli and the Giants and that turned out al....

A reminder the Bears could have played the horrible Vikings if they'd just laid down and died last week, but instead get to play a hot team who just won the Super Bowl with this guy QB'ing.

They had a slim shot at a bye had SF pulled off the upset over LAR.

In the second half, LAR was up by like 30 points. They could have turtled and they did the opposite. Anyway, nothing wrong with just winning games and not worrying about the next week.

I love the coffin corner ⚰

EDIT, If you are watching this game with an NFL fan over 50, they just asked you why punters don’t do that anymore.

That’s exactly it. Very annoying.
It’s the terrible highlight effect that NBC does to the field between the line of scrimmage and the yard to gain mark. It results in a lot of digital noise around players and is about as good an idea as the glow puck. It’s like homemade greenscreen.

maybe got the first by a nose and somehow the refs run in a yard past the marker, what a joke
