The more I read this morning, I think you’re absolutely right. I thought maybe he’d be traded by then. It’ll be weird, just teammates vibe-wise, if he’s on the field.

If he could be had for a 2nd I would do that in a heartbeat. He's already a good slot corner. He should be able to play FS. So, hat tip as always to @Super Nomario , he could be a swiss army knife in the secondary with a tremendous ceiling. I don't think we end up getting him and it would be hard to drop someone on this stacked roster but Minkah is the kind of potentially special player I would hope they consider.

Does IR work like the Injured list in baseball as far as it being retroactive? I ask because 6 weeks is short of the timeframe he could return from IR. What if, after 4 weeks, they realize he's still 4 or 5 weeks away, could they put him on IR at that time and have him available 4 weeks later, or is it 8 weeks from placement on IR?

IR is not retroactive to the date of injury or resulting absence from activities. The clock for taking a player off IR and returning him to practice and then the active roster starts ticking down the day on which the player is placed on IR.

Saints have had some rough luck in the twilight of Brees' career.
The last 5 seasons, their defense has ranked (by points allowed) 14th, 10th, 31st, 32nd, and 28th. If anything he's had some good fortune to do well despite a heavily unbalanced team.

Lot of leverage for teams with competent back-up quarterbacks. Wish we kept Hoyer another 2 weeks.

That feels like a stretch... Both the Steelers and Saints have invested fairly heavily in the backup QB position (3rd rounder for Pitt, $7mn guaranteed for NO). Would Hoyer really start over Rudolph or Bridgewater given the incumbent backups have been in their respective systems for over a year now?

What player on the 53 man would you have cut to keep Hoyer? And would his trade value materially exceed the value of that player to the point you gamble on multiple starting QB injuries?

The Jags aren’t at a point of objectively no return with Ramsey, and he’s a top 3 player at one of the most important positions on the field at a good cal charge/salary next year. No fucking way I’d trade this guy just yet.

This could go farther downhill quickly, though, as we all know.

You no like JC? He seems to be playing fairly well, and I get the impression that BB really likes him.
Well, I mean, I like Eduardo Rodriguez, but if we could trade him for Max Scherzer or something I'd do it.

Part of Ramsey’s falling out in JAX is his contract. Only way someone gets him is if they’re also willing to extend him sooner rather than later.

Minkah Fifzpatrick to Steelers for their 2020 1st, which will likely be higher than expected at the start of the month due to Big Ben's elbow.

I know detailed discussion going on in the team threads, but hey, it is a transaction.

You can get creative with Ramsey's contract since next year's 5th year is $13.7M, all guaranteed base salary. No reason why you couldn't sign him to an extension with a nice signing bonus and get 4-5 years out of him.

Chiefs players aren't hiding their interest in Ramsey. Tyreek Hill deleted his already (he had tweeted "Lets go!" to Ramsey). But Tyrann Mathieu actually tweeted out to both Ramsey and his agent David Mulugheta. Judging the comments, this will most certainly cement a SB victory should a trade happen.

Can he play Thursday, get traded on Friday to a new team which plays Sunday or Monday, and play in a 2nd game in the same NFL week?
