It's not about the game, it's about the weekend. Many corporate partners are shared, and both leagues use those respective venues for retention/upsale/makegoods ect.
Point taken, but the Daytona 500 also shares those corporate partners. And the Daytona 500 and the Super Bowl sometimes share a network (Fox). So, even if the Super Bowl is on another network, they'd never air against it.

Golden Tate suspended 4 games for PEDs but he believes he has legitimate appeal case per Schefter.
Fertility drug, he and his wife are trying to have a child.

"This past April, during the off-season, my wife and I decided to see a specialist for fertility planning. I started the treatment prescribed to me and just days later I discovered it contained an ingredient that is on the league's banned substance list," Tate said in a statement. "I immediately discontinued use, I reported the situation to the Independent Administrator of the NFL Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances, and I spoke with my coaches and general manager. I did all of this well before a failed test was even confirmed.

"Per NFL protocol, an initial suspension was imminent, but myself and the Giants organization are confident in the facts, and eagerly await my appeal to put this behind us."

An MRI revealed that Bengals’ WR A.J. Green has torn ligaments in his left ankle that is likely to sideline him six to eight weeks, source tells ESPN. Green is not expected to be ready for the regular-season opener at Seattle.
6-8 weeks for torn ligaments?! How is that possible? I’ve been dealing with subacute-chronic ankle ligament/tendon issues for over a f****** year now. Yet, Green tears ligaments and is going to be back in six-eight weeks? I mean, I, happy for the guy, but isn’t that forecast a bit rosy?

Also worth noting: last year Green "jammed his toe," then missed a month, and then tore ligaments in his toe his first game back and had to go on IR. So do we trust the Bengals to be real about the injury and / or to handle things safely and appropriately? Green is in a walk year too, which is whole other set of pressures.

I had a really bad ankle sprain about 20 years ago, so bad that I nearly passed out from the pain when it happened. A week later, I thought I would be OK to start exercising again and I went to my doc. Torn ligaments on the inside and outside of the ankle was the diagnosis. 8 weeks of 3x/week PT was the recommendation. I could have been playing sports in 2-4 weeks I'm sure. And that was from a mere 3-4 hours per week of therapy (my 3 regular sessions plus some not-very-regular home therapy exercises). I'm sure that with all the treatment that a professional athlete has available to him, plus no need to spend any time doing anything else with his life, he can easily be back in 6-8 weeks.

Looks like Michael Crabtree couldn't come to a deal with Arizona, so he remains on the market. Anyone have an update on capspace since the Brady extension? Is he worth kicking the tires on?

I’d think they would’ve looked into it sooner, if interested. Heard Phil Perry really down on the idea of Crabtree the other day. Said he’s fat and slow.

I'm torn on whether that's more So Raiders or So Jets.

It involves harm to himself but not others, and humiliation... I'm leaning Jets.

I guess it's true that you lose your sole when you sign with the Raiders.

What's Welker's take on this?

Do the Raiders have any recourse vs. the Steelers? Surprised the Raiders didn't get cold feet then; they sure have them now.

From Bleacher Report on March 13th, "The long, winding and sometimes confusing Antonio Brown trade saga officially ended Wednesday as the Pittsburgh Steelers shipped the Pro Bowl wide receiver to the Oakland Raiders for a 2019 third-round draft pick (No. 66 overall) and 2019 fifth-round pick (No. 141 overall). Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio first reported the news early Sunday morning. "

He's just trying to put the best foot forward. You're trying to be a leader in the clubhouse, you can't just put your toe in the water, you have to fully commit. To play a game that depends on footwork, every receiver on the team is going to have to step it up.

Recourse for what?

I don't think they have any recourse for something Brown did after the trade was completed.
