Presumably there will be a press conference or call with the media after they cut Hill. I wish there was a reporter with the stones to ask the KC brass if they’re prepared to also cut Clark in the event that a video or audio recording of his domestic violence incident becomes public. It’d be a surreal moment.

Kick this fucker out of the league for good.
Obviously the key focus is on the kid and girlfriend. Horrible situation.

Regarding how this effects the Chiefs...losing Hill is fucking huge. You'll never replace half of the stats he gave them, and this causes significant spacing problems for Kelce. Not to mention the ability to cover the flats without fear of losing help over the top with Hills speed. I wouldnt be shocked to see Maholmes TD total get cut in half next season. It's that big of a loss.

And hopefully that piece of shit gets to watch it every Sunday from his jail cell.

Isn't Conklin good?

Edit: lots of injuries though. ACL, concussion, another knee injury
He was the 8th pick, so the fifth-year option is $13.7something million, not the ~$9.5 MM it would be if he was taken 11th. Also, the option values are based on "OL" contracts, not specifically RT, which would be lower.

Are they allowed to negotiate with him now that they have declined the option? Or does he automatically become a UFA in 2020?

Edit: would he make sense as a possible trade target??

Hill's response: https://sports.yahoo.com/news/tyreek-hill-submits-threepage-rebuttal-against-childabuse-accusations-185109529.html

The letter also asserts a text exchange between the two, which is related to spanking, happened after the Dubai trip:

Tyreek: “Crystal you know I didn’t cause any bruising or harm to [our son.] But for some reason I still may be charged.”"

Crystal: “I know you didn’t. I did. I hurt [our son.] I’m the one that did it. I was hurt and mad at you so I blamed you for everything.

Single-car accident? With no further detail? He's not gonna be able to just hand-wave that one away.

At least he didn't hurt anybody though, that story could have really blown up.

Seriously, talk about self inflicted injury. I can't remember another athlete that has had a string of stupid about their career moments as him (non Josh Gordon division). Oh wait, wasn't there a WR named Hill in the news for something or other?

Well hasn’t it been established that Josh Gordon suffers from legitimate mental health issues?

Wonder if the fingerprint at the site will provide any clues...

There's something wrong with that analogy, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Jokes aside, JPP might be the richest future Darwin Award candidate I can think of. He's gonna be a good sleeper pick in the Death Pool come his retirement.

deep inside Guido territory

Dolphins are signing CB Xavien Howard to a record five-year, $76.5 million extension that includes $46M guaranteed, making him the highest paid CB in the NFL, sources tell ESPN. It’s the largest extension for a CB. Since becoming a 2nd-round pick, Howard has gone to one Pro Bowl.

Apparently, sitting out a year is becoming the hot new negotiating tactic. Or something.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/26709794/jaguars-lb-smith-says-play-2019

"Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith announced on social media that he will not play football in 2019 but left open the possibility of a return in 2020 and beyond."

He'll be leaving ~$7M in salary on the table, and presumably, the Jags would seek to recoup ~$3M in signing bonus. They get cap relief for the salary, but bonus portion stays on the cap. There'd been trade rumors, as he's apparently a bit disgruntled, with ~$10M a year is a relative bargain for the guy with the most overall tackles (solo and total) over the last 5 years.

Seattle released Kam Chancellor and Doug Baldwin with failed physical designations. Both players’ careers are likely over.
Love them both. Chancellor really got the shit end of the stick. Baldwin being so small, it doesn't surprise me that he broke down so quickly. Same fear I have of a guy like Jules, or before him, Welker. He must be toast, otherwise I can't imagine he'd be jobless for too long. Kam is 31 coming off of bad injuries, so that one isn't a surprise.

Two great competitors, and key pieces of that Seattle squad that looked for a while to be the biggest threat to the Patriots being the last back to back champs and only dynasty of this era.

Yup. LOB kind of reminds me of the 2008-2012 Celtics in that they probably should have won multiple titles but injuries, bad luck, and other factors held them to 1.
