Unsure on spoilers today - not sure that everyone will be watching with the same fervor? Up to you guys.

Some intriguing names left for the Pats:
Finley
Gardner-Johnson
Stidham
Ridley
D'Andre Walker
Hooker
Willis
Moreau
Penny Hart

Here's what the Pats have. With a 100+ pick gap I fully expect a trade down (although BB does hate the 5th round). Also still the possibility of trading for a veteran like the Trent Brown trade last year, or a trade for a future pick.

They really ought not use all their picks. I'd just as soon use those 7th rounders to trade up for a guy they want, or trade out for 2020. Or use those picks to trade for a veteran they want. Guys from the 2018 group that still could make an impression. Italics are guys who already made a big impact, and played down the stretch; bold are guys who weren't there at the end but who could function almost like additional 2019 draft picks (with a little experience):

1. Wynn - returning from injury, may be a starter
2. Michel - obviously was great
3. Dawson - injured but could come back strong this year
4. Bentley - was a starter before getting injured; will be healthy this year
5. Sam - don't think he'll make much of an impact
6. Berrios - has a shot at a WR spot
7. Etling - meh
8. Crossen - played key snaps down the stretch
9. Izzo - who knows
U. Jackson - emerged as a stud

So basically add Wynn, Dawson, Bentley, and Berrios to their 2019 draft haul. That's a lot of guys.

If they can consolidate, trade for vet(s), or trade into 2020, great, but they're going to add (by my count) 14 players in the next couple days. It doesn't really matter to me whether it's 7 picks and 7 UDFAs or 3 picks and 11 UDFAs. 7ths are basically UDFAs anyway, except you definitely get them instead of having to recruit.

Guys from the 2018 group that still could make an impression. Italics are guys who already made a big impact, and played down the stretch; bold are guys who weren't there at the end but who could function almost like additional 2019 draft picks (with a little experience):
6. Berrios - has a shot at a WR spot
He has been kind of a winner so far since he can return punts. The Pats met with Mecole Hardman and were rumored to have interest in Diontae Johnson, but both those guys went. Harry has returned a few punts, Edelman can return obviously, or I guess Chung, but Berrios has a great shot to compete for that role. A lot of the slot guys left - Renfrow, Nick Easley, Olamide Zaccheaus - didn't return punts, so he may not be challenged this draft. Greg Dortch was a return guy, and Penny Hart, like Harry, did infrequently.

9. Izzo - who knows
Not adding a TE early helps Izzo's chances of making the roster a lot. He was regarded as one of the best blocking TEs in last year's class. Seferian-Jenkins and LaCosse (as well as Hollister and Stephen Anderson) are both considered more receivers than blockers, Allen is gone. Even if they add a Foster Moreau type who can block, Izzo stands a good chance of sticking as a blocking TE.

around the way
I'd love to see him grab Renfrow and Stanley Jr. late, even if either or both end up on ST only. Seems like both are karma drafts.

Other than that, BPA all the way baby.

On spoilers—they don’t show every pick on TV so I’m thinking spoilers aren’t big deal. Picks come quick today.

I think spoilers are fine today too but I hope everyone can show some restraint and not post every tweet they see as quickly as possible. There is no prize for being first. Take a second maybe wait to see if more then one person has the same info and then post.

I hate so many 7's. Wouldnt mind flipping a couple for a 6, or maybe a late rounder next year.
I thought this for a bit then wondered about how the team values these super late picks. I’d imagine a 6th rounder and 7th rounder are both relative lottery tickets. Does it therefore really make sense to package two lottery tickets in exchange for one? I imagine they value them as add ons to seal a deal.

Some names at each position:

If they want an IDL/Edge type I hope they go Nelson or Omenihu.

For QB I think it’s between Stidham and Finley with Finley being the best fit.

KR/PR: I’m not by my computer so the only guy I remember is Tony Pollard who is a RB/WR type who is one of the best returns in the class.

ST/LB: Coney, Tranquill, maybe Terez Hall.

DT: Daniel Wise, Dayton Mack

S: Amani Hooker, Sheldrick Redwine

TE: Get me Foster Moreau. Caleb Wilson might be an upgrade over our depth receiving TEs. Dax Raymond would be a fun guy to have too and he really does, to steal from Masco, play like his hair is on fire. He can quickly get up the field.

OG: Froholdt? Not sure on OGs, didn’t scout them much and certainly not day 3 guys.

WR: Hakeem Butler, Stanley Morgan jr; Greg Dortch, Nick Easley, a ton of guys still available.

I feel like Butler was rumored to go in the first round. I thought he'd be one of the first two off the board. Wild he's still there.

Whoever is hosting the show on ESPN right now just said it was cool that Grier was drafted by the Charlotte Panthers.

I can’t imagine there is a big crossover between people interested in 4th round draft picks and horrible drama

Bring back the smoke filled room. Why are they doing this???????

People watching the 4th round of the NFL draft just want the picks.

side by side on espn

Butler is a big target with excellent length, big hands and good top-end speed. He has the frame and body control to win one-on-one downfield. He isn't as dangerous after the catch

and

Hakeem Butler is a wide receiver out of Iowa State with great speed and dangerous after-the-catch ability.

Kiper just compared him to Josh Rosen and thought he was complimenting him. Does he completely lose track of what happens once guys are drafted?

If they flipped all three 4th rounders for 2020 3rd rounders, I would be fine with it. Especially, as appears to be the case, they are not interested in QBs
Gotta be some small school hoss that plays DL.

McShay told a great Kiper story on the Dan Patrick radio show: Mel ordered a room-service cheese pizza, took off the cheese, then dipped each slice of tomato sauce and crust into mashed potatoes for his dinner
