Good morning.

Pats have five picks today 56, 64, 73, 97 and 101. I'd expect NE to move around the draft board to pick its preferred players.

Here's PFT's 2nd round mock, taking into account last night's picks:

33. Cardinals: Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida.
34. Colts: A.J. Brown, WR, Mississippi.
35. Raiders: Drew Lock, QB, Missouri.
36. 49ers: Cody Ford, OL, Oklahoma.
37. Seahawks: Greedy Williams, CB, LSU.
38. Jaguars: Jaylon Ferguson, EDGE, Louisiana Tech.
39. Buccaneers: Byron Murphy, CB, Washington.
40. Bills: Erik McCoy, OG, Texas A&M.
41. Broncos: D.K. Metcalf, WR, Mississippi.
42. Bengals: Irv Smith, TE, Alabama.
43. Lions: Greg Little, OT, Mississippi.
44. Packers: Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina.
45. Rams: Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, S, Florida.
46. Colts: Lonnie Johnson, CB, Kentucky.
47. Panthers: Parris Campbell, WR, Ohio State.
48. Dolphins: Mack Wilson, LB, Alabama.
49. Browns: Nasir Adderley, S, Delaware.
50. Vikings: Rock Ya Sin, CB, Temple.
51. Titans: Dalton Risner, G, Kansas State.
52. Broncos: Will Grier, QB, West Virginia.
53. Eagles: Jachai Polite, EDGE, Florida.
54. Texans: Elgton Jenkins, OL, Mississippi State.
55. Texans: Joejuan Williams, CB, Vanderbilt.
56. Patriots: Germaine Pratt, LB, North Carolina State
57. Eagles: Isaiah Johnson, CB, Houston.
58. Cowboys: Damien Harris, RB, Alabama.
59. Colts: Julian Love, CB, Notre Dame.
60. Chargers: Trayvon Mullen, CB, Clemson.
61. Chiefs: Chase Winovich, EDGE, Michigan.
62. Saints: Jace Sternberger, TE, Texas A&M.
63. Chiefs: Taylor Rapp, S, Washington.
64. Patriots: Hunter Renfrow, WR, Clemson.

Guessing TE, EDGE, CB, WR and QB today . Several mocks have the Pats taking Winovich at 56.

I don't know whether it'll be via a draft pick or trade (like last year) but I'd be surprised if the Patriots don't come out of today with an OT. Right now their third tackle is Cole Croston (12 career snaps) and their starting LT is a guy who has never played in the league and is coming off a major injury. Its a huge need and its the type of potential problem - if, say, Wynn gets hurt or is totally lost out there but Croston is just as bad - that is a very hard to scheme around. Having a superstar LT is probably overrated but having a guy who is not-completely-terrible is very important.

There's so many different ways the Pats could go today based on so many players available at their needs. I think they'll trade one of the 2nd round picks and one of the 3rds for future picks or vets.
Yep I see them making at least 2 trades today, maybe 3: a trade up, a trade down / acquiring a 2020 pick, and a trade for a vet.

I want NE to come out of today with EDGE, TE, another WR and Josh Rosen.

I'll say trade 56+ for Irv Smith, Jr., pick Amani Hooker at 64, trade 73+ for Josh Rosen, pick Christian Miller at 97 and pick Andy Isabella at 101.

Is that a joke mock? Renfrow shouldn’t be drafted.
Did you think Barrios or Ryan Switzer shouldn’t have been drafted? Hunter is a better slot than either of those guys. Granted he doesn’t have the return game on his resume...but what he does, he does really well.

Sign me up for some Greg Little.

I'd be happy with Little at 56, Omenihu at 64 and then pick up a TE and secondary help next round. Which means we'll take a LB, G and RB...

(I'd also be happy with amfox1's moves- lots of ways to add quality pieces today)

Very much agree, but from a roster construction standpoint, a veteran probably makes more sense - after all, a rookie isn't going to have any more experience than Wynn. One option might be Halapoulivaati Vaitai, who arguably becomes expendable with the Eagles drafting Andre Dillard. He's a FA after the year, so Philly has incentive to move him if he's just going to be the fourth tackle. Both PHI and NE active in the trade market.

Look to you and everyone else who quoted my post I was exaggerating. Just reacting to seeing him mocked to the Pats at 64. I agree he is worth of a day 3 draft pick. But seeing him at 64 seemed like a joke to me.

Seems like the sort of guy who would be available in rounds 5-7

No thanks on Jackson or Isabella. I'd love Sternberger but seems to make too much sense to happen.

Dungey in round 6. Put him on the Brady muscle stretching regimen over the next couple years while he develops, maybe he wont get hurt as often.

Why so down on Isabella?

I'm kinda the opposite. If they don't deal for Rosen with a lot of talent still out there I'd like to see them take their excess day 3 picks package with the 4th and a 3rd to get a 2nd and have 5 bites at the apple tonight, with 3 in the 2nd rd. Add 6 guys to Wynn dawson and a healthy Bentley that's a good injection of youth.

I agree with those that say, given the surplus picks, they target someone and move up in the second round ... and then trade for 2020 picks

With the significant caveat of it's only 1 play, but that Jackson highlight has a red flag in it. Right off the snap there's a crossing route and the receiver leaves his defender in the dust about 8 yards out right in front of Jackson. He's 6'7" and didn't see it?

The Broncos have received some interest in star CB Chris Harris Jr from other teams for a possible trade. Something could happen during the next two days of the draft.
He wants a new contract too. Pats could be in this if they could extend him to lower the cap numbers on his remaining 2 years. Couldn't do it without that.

Pratt and Renfrow are both mocked and google scouted as going later, but drafted earlier by teams that can develop them. The 49ers' new WR coach is Wes Welker, so I can see the thinking behind the 49ers wanting to pick him at 67 instead of hoping and waiting at 104, and the Patriots beat them to it at 64. I'd still love to see Renfrow coached up by Welker.
