Jets are certainly getting their money's worth out of Bell so far - 56 carries and 20 catches through 3 games projects to 299 carries and 107 catches, for 400+ touches. As a Pats fan I'd be pretty happy if he touches the ball 400+ times in a season in which the Jets won't win more than 6 games. IIRC the numbers aren't very favorable for RBs after they get 400 touches in a season. Hell, Bell had 400+ touches in 2017, skipped last year, and is now at a robust 2.9 YPC.

I like Darnold. I think he's a better QB than the Jets have had in a long time. He's young and improvin'.

But man if that isn't the most Jets moment since Rex Ryan's Mark Sanchez tattoo.

So - was getting mono the worst or second worst thing to happen to Darnold this year.

And can someone remix that over and edm banger?

Jamal is the maddest I have seen a player in a post game presser in a while.

Dropping the old: It’s not a rivalry until we win. They’ve been beating us for years.

Joe Beningo WFAN, and long-suffering JETS fan will be a good listen at 10AM
Particularly because, for the first time in years, he said he was optimistic about the Jets in this game; he even claims he took the Jets money line!

He’s going to flagellate himself and it’ll be years before you hear him try that again.

What the fuck? Is that not criminal or at the very least grounds for a massive lawsuit?

Imagine if a team was trying to hide concussion test results.
Working backwards through this thread and just saw this.

If true - meaning, if they actually submitted false MRI images to a medical provider with the intent to generate a false diagnosis - then it is almost certainly both criminal (I mean, it’s the definition of fraud) and grounds for a wildly expensive civil judgement against them.

I’m speechless. It’s the Jets and I’m still speechless.

mahesh: Sam Darnold had a toenail removed, per Gase. He'll be fine.

Isnt this exhibit 24895 of why BB is laps ahead of all these guys?

""on to Cincinnati"

Instead it sounds like Gase wants to "do a deep dive into game planning..." (for a team he isnt going to see again). He kinda saves it at the end but insinuates (at least to my ears) that tomorrow him and the coaches will be trying to figure out why they lost to the Patriots. Instead of how do we win against Jacksonville.

Plenty of time in March (its the Jets so) January to figure that out.

I actually think the Jets are going to be ok this year if this doesn't crush them. Bell is really good and they have good receivers and they just need to avoid being one dimensional. Darnold will never look as bad as he did last night, I don't think.

I think that the Patriots just found something to exploit and had the personnel to do it and the Jets couldn't deal with it. I posted in the gamethread or the ball thread or somewhere that the game reminded me of the Indy game in primetime several years back where Jonas Gray had 4 TDs. The Patriots had 44 rushing attempts. Last night they played more cover zero than many teams will play all year. They just rode the same horse until it was exhausted and there was nothing the other team could do about it. But the point is that Indy was actually a good team that year. They just didn't look like against a team that went after its weakest link relentlessly and without letting up.

I don't know that it's something that other Jets opponents can replicate. They will make adjustments and you need the right personnel. Just like Indy was able to make adjustments and still won a bunch of games -- until they had to play the Patriots again that year.

Jets next 7 games:

@Jaguars
@Dolphins
Giants (mutual home game, technically a Jets home game)
@Redskins
Raiders
@Bengals
Dolphins

You'd think that's at least 4-3
