Yeah hot yoga is exactly the type of thing someone really banged up would do to stay active and pliable away from weights and running. It’s exactly what I did after surgeries. It’s also the hardest workout ever.
This guy is outraged that you've forgotten about his movie and TV career, which included a widely-viewed live performance that people still talk about to this day!The subset of athletes that are in commercials who also have Hollywood success is tiny-to-nonexistent.
Oh Yeah! Gronk should give him a call for career advice. This guy is outraged that you've forgotten about his movie and TV career, which included a widely-viewed live performance that people still talk about to this day!
I've seen hundreds of videos of athletes and celebrities visiting kids in the hospital and I don't think I've ever seen someone as enthusiastic and passionate as Gronk. He put on a johnnie and did the Cha Cha Slide with a kid, I mean come on. Great video, thanks for sharing it.Gronk keeping busy doing Gronk things:

Particularly love how he flirts inappropriately with the nurses treating pediatric cancer patients.
Never change, Gronk.
He's such a genuinely nice guy!I've seen hundreds of videos of athletes and celebrities visiting kids in the hospital and I don't think I've ever seen someone as enthusiastic and passionate as Gronk. The knuckle bump with that 18 month old in the bed totally got to me.I've seen hundreds of videos of athletes and celebrities visiting kids in the hospital and I don't think I've ever seen someone as enthusiastic and passionate as Gronk. Same here. Sick/hurt/endangered kids are the only thing that really makes me get choked up, so that video of the kid in the bed would have probably been enough, but then to see the happiness (and a healthy dose of confusion) in the kids face, and the joy on Gronk's face after the knuckle bump made it REALLY dusty in my office. The knuckle bump with that 18 month old in the bed totally got to me.
Happy Gilmore sized check but it’ll cash still.Gronk keeping busy doing Gronk things:

Didn't work out that well for Hernandez.Oh Yeah! Gronk should give him a call for career advice.
Yeah, there was a good article a few years ago in ESPN The Magazine on Viking's OL Matt Kalil and how he was basically forcing himself to eat in order to "bulk up" from like, 305 to 330 because they thought he was too small to be a tackle. Thankfully, it seems like the NFL is trending towards smaller/faster players so that kind of attitude hopefully isn't as prevalent. Some offensive linemen drop down from like 330 down to 220 or so - still making them huge men (6’5”, 220 lbs) but at least somewhat “normal”, and I should add, much healthier.
Always been curious on this one: if he wanted to pack back on weight how much could he realistically lose and then gain again in time to return by before the trading deadline? Spitballing here but if he got down to 225 or so how hard / much-time would it be to get back to 260?I don’t think people understand how much eating is involved in maintaining that weight. It becomes a constant lifestyle chore. You can’t miss meals. You can’t be in a situation where you can’t eat every couple hours. You have to force feed yourself. It’s gross. And the extra weight makes your joints ache, makes you sweaty and bleh. It was always the hardest part of training for me and I never went over 252.
We assuming drug free or enhanced?Always been curious on this one: if he wanted to pack back on weight how much could he realistically lose and then gain again in time to return by before the trading deadline? This man makes a good point. It's the NFL. Why would we ever assume drug free?
But the point needs to be broadened to, "It's professional athletics, why would we ever assume anyone is drug free?" It's not even a question anymore. Almost every player is taking something that enhances their performance. Science has made it almost impossible to catch the people who know what they are doing. This man makes a good point.
Pretty sure that somatypes have been widely dispelled as bullshit.Gronk’s a mesomorph, so he probably puts lean muscle on easily, but the thing is he’d be trying to bulk up while getting back into shape and it’s obviously more difficult to gain weight while doing cardio. Also, it’s of course easier to gain muscle that you had instead of building new muscle. I’d think with a strong cycle he could probably put back on 25 pounds in 3ish months while rounding back into game shape.
The weird eugenics shit is, but as shorthand’s for how peoples bodies hold and gain fat/muscle, they’re a decent predictor.Pretty sure that somatypes have been widely dispelled as bullshit.
The "Colon Crew" tattoo using his belly button as a butthole is a nice touch. Then there’s this:

Xenomorph?Really? I feel like I’m a classic ectomorph (even though I’ve managed to get up to 200 lbs) and my best friend seems to be a classic mesomorph.

He's on reserve / retired, so I'm pretty sure his deal would apply if they activate him from there. That's what happened when Anthony Davis (49ers) returned form retirement a few years ago: https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/49ers/inside-mind-anthony-davis-part-3-why-i-returned-nflNot sure if this has been answered: if Gronk decides to come back, his deal from this year is null and void right? He'd have to sign a new deal that fits under the Patriots' remaining cap space?
When Anthony Davis retired from the NFL, his contract with the 49ers “went on the shelf”, as one team executive explained it. If and when Davis decided to apply for reinstatement, his contract would pick up at the same point as the day it went into storage, as if time stood still.
Thanks. I didn't know if his contract would still apply on retired list. He's on reserve / retired, so I'm pretty sure his deal would apply if they activate him from there. Im pretty sure a 30 yo uber athlete could go back to training 2-3 hrs a day and eating 6k calories and bulk up in 2-3 months or less if he so desired. Plus extra NFL nutrition so to speak.

There's a zero percent chance you gained 15lbs of muscle in two months unless you were on the juice. You may have gained 15lbs, I trust that number.Im pretty sure a 30 yo uber athlete could go back to training 2-3 hrs a day and eating 6k calories and bulk up in 2-3 months or less if he so desired. I'm a nothingburger athlete and gained 15 lbs muscle eating 4k+ calories working out 6-7 days week in my young 30s over 2 months.
Of course anecdotes mean nothing but I'm sure our Swolehalla brethren like @Marciano490 can speak more eloquently to mass gain (disregarding the mesomorph weirdness).
Juice. Not the juice, narc. There's a zero percent chance you gained 15lbs of muscle in two months unless you were on the juice. You may have gained 15lbs, I trust that number.
Mike Flynn was filling in for T&R recently and he was adamant that at most, Gronk (and people like him), could gain 2-3 lbs of muscle a month.Juice. Not the juice, narc.
15 pounds in 8 weeks is nada. 15 pounds of muscle in 8 weeks is possible natty, especially if he’d previously been swole.

That is absurd. Gronk isn't Tacko Fall. People like Tacko or Porzingas may have trouble putting on muscle. Gronk could easily put on 2lbs of muscle a week assuming he has stopped "NFL" style training and has opted for more cardio less weight training (pure speculation on my part). Eat big, lift big, get big.Mike Flynn was filling in for T&R recently and he was adamant that at most, Gronk (and people like him), could gain 2-3 lbs of muscle a month.
On which body part?Mike Flynn was filling in for T&R recently and he was adamant that at most, Gronk (and people like him), could gain 2-3 lbs of muscle a month.
Oh for sure, it is a fun fantasy. Chances are of course 1 in a million.
I'd like him to come back too, theoretically, but we're really grasping at straws here.
