This defense is the best I've seen since 2003-2004, maybe even better.

The injuries and lack of weapons piled up. Brady made terrible choices all game. McD didn't help. But anytime you win on the road against a Divisonal foe, it's a good day.

It's Game Ball Time!

My game ball goes to Bill’s remarks which he hasn’t made yet. In them, he will say that he’s proud of his team for winning on the road against a divisional opponent. While he will acknowledge that it wasn’t perfect, he will compliment his team for playing a full sixty minutes.

Also the Pats D has allowed one Td in four games. And it took a fourth and goal from the 1 yard line QB sneak that was like an inch away from being another turnover.

Buffalo had 151 more yards of offense.

Jake Bailey averaged 48 yards a punt. Bojorquez only averaged 36. Those 12 yards per possession trade added up today.

DMC and Gilmore not getting enough credit here yet. The secondary suffocated the WRs all game.

I don't want Gost back next year. I've felt this way for the past few but he's done.

Give JC Jackson a game ball. Let him hold it for a few seconds and smile and then take it away from him because of his attempted “tackle” on Gore’s long run. Zero allowance for plays like that. Tackling is about effort. That was a pathetic effort. Game ball awarded but revoked.

Honorary game ball to whomever in the Bills braintrust proposed a game plan to test this secondary deep.

Bailey really helped out today by the awesome hang time on his punts today. There were always 3 or 4 Pats closing in bt the time the returner was getting ready to catch the ball.

Jason McCourty had another TD-saving strip.

All eleven or so guys who play as the front seven deserve a game ball

I wonder if someone has specifically pointed out Slater using the out of bounds lane on punt coverage to refs? As I understand the rule it is ok to go out of bounds so long as you come right back and aren’t using it to get an advantage.

Slater (first career TD, I believe)
Deee-FENCE!!!

The offense is good for at least one or two of these WTF games each season, usually early on, and usually on the road. So I'll reluctantly grant them a mulligan, acknowledging a win against a divisional opponent on the road. But there are some issues that could be concerning if they are unable to be rectified.

Kyle Van Noy
And Bailey

Still think the ref effed up in the personal foul as Barkley started to block Van Noy.

Nobody on the offense. Crap day, and they have some real problems. Some of that is Buffalo's got a terrific defense. But man. When they were up 13-0 and had the ball at the 1 and Brady threw that pick. Oh my word. The game went from 20-0 and being OVAH to suddenly giving life to the moribund Bills, who took advantage. Even a FG there makes it 16-0 and the game is basically over. Just the worst outcome there. Can't have that.

Since the third TD against the Jets, the Pats' offense has been dog crap really. Here are their drives since their third TD vs. the Jets:

-5 yds Punt
19 yds Punt
44 yds Punt
12 yds Punt
-2 yds FG
60 yds TD
25 yds Punt
7 yds INT (Stidham)
8 yds Punt
5 yds Punt
15 yds Punt
50 yds TD
6 yds Punt
1 yd Punt
76 yds INT
0 yds Punt
2 yds Punt
6 yds Punt
38 yds FG
3 yds Punt
10 yds Punt
20 yds Punt

That's 21 drives (not counting the Stidham drive or kneel downs).

2 TD
2 FG
1 INT
16 Punts

Putrid, awful offensive football (pun not intended but nonetheless accurate; guess that Oxford comma does matter).

White on O.

D was stellar. Not sure the Gilmore dislike, he isnt going to win 100%, other players are highly paid professionals too. Few missed plays but overall solid job.

O was weak, O line has issues, but the Buff D line is very good. White as usual seems to be an outlet.

Gilmore was kinda shit today.
Some of the people here are extremely hard on the defense. Gilmore had one bad play. His strong coverage led to many sacks and rushed throws including 3 ints. Gee Louise... the defense and special teams are the reason they won today. Talk about a harsh crowd

Missed his first half on Brown? Allen was desperate to get it to him and Gilmore was all over him.

Yep. Besides Brady, the most important single person on the entire offense. He probably should take next week off if he's not 100%. Beating Washington with a rookie at QB should be a relatively straightforward task even without Edelman.

Everyone on D gets a game ball. Offense was putrid. Hope it was more the Bills actually having a decent defense and not shitty game planning. A better opposing QB beats us today.

Worth noting, that Rams and Chiefs struggled today too.

It happens.

Fortunately the Redskins are a cure-all.

JC Jackson was great.
Except for his horrible tackle attempt on Gore’s 15K run
