1. Tom Brady- He is the GOAT. We’d all be well served to remember that.

2- Sony and Rex- Tough, tough running all night long. Hitting the hole, fighting for every yard, and refusing to go down on first contact. Those guys were huge.

3. Lawrence Guy- Could not be stopped. Snap after snap after snap of making plays on the running back and getting after the QB.

Josh called a near perfect game and Brady executed a near perfect game.

That was an ass kicking even though the scoreboard didn’t reflect it
This, exactly. Time of possession, yards, every metric the Pats were better. If not for a couple of successful heaves, the game wouldn't have been close.

Maybe not the gameball, but enormous redemption for Burkhead after that fumble. And people wanted to bench him!

The entire offense even Sanu and Turnstile. Not only did they just look like a good offense but that TD answer to win the game against that D was vintage Patriots.

The Pats are back. And they’re back big.

The entire defense
Everyone on offense except for Sanu. He sucks. Can't extend and can't make a block
Also no game ball for Newhouse and Cannon (for getting hurt and having Newhouse in the game) Not fair I know

Go f*ck yourself
I made a bet with someone that the Bills wouldnt make the playoffs. I think it was in one of the general NFL game threads, week 6 or so but I can’t find it. Please PM me if you see this so I can pony up to the charity of your choice.

TB12 - my dude was nails.

Harry - seeing him more involved. Guy can YAC, he’s so damn strong.

I might be gravitating toward the Sanu sucks bandwagon. His run blocking today was abysmal.

Brady was amazing, and Sony was a breath of fresh air, and Edelman was heroic....but three offbeat picks...

1.) Lawrence Guy was great against the run and great against the pass.
2.) I thought Newhouse most mostly cromulent and occasionally very very good on screens and some run plays.
3.) NICK FOLK KICKED A 51-YARD FIELD GOAL. THAT WAS BADLY NEEDED!

I know the dynasty is over and the AFC East is wide open and Brady is way over the cliff but I feel pretty good about another 12 (at least) win season as well as 11 division titles in a row.

Michel had a great day running but some of his best runs came behind Roberts. So a game ball to each of them.

I get the mistrust of Newhouse, but he was good today. Got out there on a bunch of successful screens, beautiful job sealing off the second level on a key 8-yard run by Sony near the end, gave up no sacks. I’m not betting he can keep it up all the way through the Super Bowl, sure hope Cannon isn’t hurt too bad, but great to know Newhouse has the potential to keep the ship afloat.

Along those lines, Thuney had a fantastic unsung game. I think no holding penalties all day on the O-line?

I’m giving a ball to Meyers. Made some important catches when Edelman was out.

A noble spirit embiggens the smallest (line)man.

Jackson had some huge tackles tonight on 3rd down and was generally great in coverage.
Newhouse might actually be better than this version of Cannon. Cannon has zero lateral movement right now, if he can't keep someone in front of him his guy is past him and he is no help in the screen game. At least Newhouse can move 5 yards to his right. I'd love to see them rest Cannon until the playoffs.
Folk has given us everything we would have wanted from Ghost. I wouldn't want him attempting anything beyond 52 but from 50 in he is dead middle.

Edelman.
Defense.
Burkhead for some crazy toughness on the winning run after giving the ball up on a fumble early.

Newhouse turned into much needed depth and all those reps earlier in the year paid dividends when back on the other side.

Edit: Yeah and definitely Folk. And Brady.

Fuck it, I just love them all a lot.

The GOAT.

Did it look like they were selling the play-actions differently today? Brady really seemed to lean into them.

Also, they figured something out with the screen game.

Easier to play action when you are running effectively.

Worried about Chung...Knox was consistently beating him and if it wasn't for Allen just flat out missing him today could have been worse. Hope Jones gets healthy as well.

Great win. Brady. Sony. Folk. Eds. Guy. Rook WRs. TEs in the mix. Tons of contributions. Josh called a great game.

Is Dorsett still on the team? ;)

I’ll add another one I’m sure nobody else will mention: here’s one for the referees.

I think a few of the calls that generated a lot of grumbling in the game thread were actually good, or at least not terrible, calls:
1.) The first down Sanu didn’t get because he couldn’t be bothered to try. Yes, the spot wasn’t good, but no way was it conclusive he had the first down...I thought he was short.
2.) Edelman’s pick play. Maybe not intentional, but JE11 did indeed clear out a defender trying to stick with Watson more than a yard past the LOS.
3.) Watson’s OPI. He was clearly blocking well downfield before the ball was thrown.
4.) On replay it appeared the Bills OL did in fact check in as eligible before his TD reception and the Pats were so notified.

They also did a great job defusing Tredevious White’s butt-hurt at getting blocked by Harry.

Beyond that, there were no ticky-tack holding or PI calls. They let ‘em play, and as a result the game moved fast and was highly entertaining. I’d take that crew again any old time. I didn’t get the impression it was a dirty game in any way.

Brady, Guy, JE11 and Folk for showing that we may be capable of field goals greater than 30 yards.

This seems harsh. The Pats had already fumbled once. Protecting the ball is job #1.

pretty sure he was the only offensive skill player to not have a catch today (not counting slater), great offensive balance all day

If the Bears can somehow beat the Chiefs tomorrow night, the Pats can rest people like Edelman next week because the #2 seed will have been clinched.

1. GOAT - Best he’s looked since the first third of the season. Money all night.
2. Guy - Major disruptor. Consistently in the middle of things.
3. Folk - Solid. I am officially no longer worried about FG or PAT.
4. Jules - Tough as nails. Clearly playing hurt in more than one way but still producing.

On the negative side....Sanu. His missed block ended up leading to 7 points before the half.
