Hopefully it's a sprained ankle and that's all it is.
YOu deserve up to $10. Listening to EEi and Dale made it seem like a torn ACL with his reporting, almost caused me to get into an accident. Hopefully we can rest Tatum until October. Praying for Kemba and Jaylen to come through unscathed when FIBA is over.

Really sad they had to go to overtime to get by Turkey.

For those who didn’t despise Harrison Barnes enough.
I thought Barnes played pretty well, except where he got abused for fouls on back-to-back possessions, thankfully non-shooting, which took him from 2 PFs to 4 PFs in a span of 10 seconds. He's certainly doing more than I'd expect Kyle Kuzma to do.

I'd expect Kuzma to drop in a bucket once in a while, and I'm not a huge Kuzma fan.

chalk one up for "small ball"...Smart and Brown got him ;)
I actually think that a version of this gameplan could work well against Philly’s roster, and is likely what people will try. Play your best lineups even if they’re smaller, and then help really, really aggressively away from the 3 point line.

Budenholzer already has solved a lot of this in terms of activating Giannis, but that’s because the Bucks have shooting that Philly doesn’t.

USA up 23-9 after 1 against Japan. Looks like Smart *may* be getting game off as well as Tatum as he's listed with 0 minutes and pretty much everyone else has 5 already.

This is gonna be an "everyone healthy gets 15-20 minutes" type of game. Kemba with 3 points early.

Tatum in uniform, walking with no limp.

EDIT: Windhorst confirming Smart out with left quad strain. Unsure if it's just giving him a day off due to meaningless game.

56-23 at half.

Kemba has 6, Brown with 9.

Former Celtics Summer League star Nick Fazekas is on the Japanese squad.

Sick dunk by Hachimura back there on Harris. I'm sure Wizards fans are stoked to see their just-drafted rookie actually impacting the game playing against NBA vets.

The british commentator yelled "...right in your liver!" as a punctuation while narrating the replay. Hadn't heard that one.

He had 4 points--not sure he had much impact other than that dunk in what was essentially a pick-up game.

Is it possible to impact a game your team lost by 53 points?

I have a suspicion we haven’t heard “Right in your liver!” for the last time around here.

Giannis with the fast break dunk that gets the crowd on its feet... And then White drives around traffic and gets a layup. Counts the same!

We suck. Really frustrating we couldn't get a couple of shooters to surround Giannis with.

Jaylen and Giannis having some [what looked like] tense words during handshakes. Announcers speculating it was regarding a rough foul on Barnes near the end.

If Jaylen can hold his own in the post defensively, that's a big development in terms of lineup options.
I think you're right here. I've been critical of Jaylen/Tatum playing the 4, but they just might be strong enough to handle the rigors of the season, by next season both will be beasts.

With Hayward spending the Summer regaining his strength, it becomes a 3-headed monster at the 3/4 and offers Brad a lot of flexibility

I’m a big fan of this pre-preseason from a Celtics team development perspective. Having Smart, JB, JT and Kemba spending a lot of time together practicing, playing and hanging out for an extended period ahead of the start of the NBA season is great. Given last season’s reported chemistry problems and barring injury there is a lot of upside to the makeup of the US Team to my green tinted view.

I may come to regret these words, but I hope Tatum returns for the knockout rounds (and helps USA win gold). There's a risk of injury whenever a player takes the court, but this could be a fantastic bonding experience for Team Shamrock.
