I'm sorry, but Aaron Boone whining about Gleyber Torres not making the All-Star Team is obnoxious.

When not facing the Orioles, he's got a 264/326/421 split. He's fine. He's good, especially for a middle infielder. But his numbers against the Orioles are inflating his number so god damn much. It makes no sense to put a .747 OPS hitter vs every team but one on the roster.
Heh, I personally don't care much about the ASG (admittedly it would be cool for Gleyber to already make two before turning 23), but it should also be noted that he is crushing with RISP so far for the team with the best record in the AL, just barely behind LeMahieu for the current AL OPS lead (1.197 to 1.196 OPS). Of course there are only so many spots and other guys are playing great too, but I think what is hard for Gleyber and Boone to accept is that he made the team last year and is decidedly better this year and is not going (so far, let's see who else drops out). Also what I thought when I saw Boone's mini-rant was that it is an easy way for a manager to score points in the clubhouse...

Anyway, moot point now, as Brandon Lowe just went on the DL and presumably Gleyber will get that spot.

Tanaka replaces Stroman, not sure I am keen on him actually pitching but good for him as he has been quite underappreciated in his Yankee tenure.
