the talk will all be about HR kings, but Paxton has been better. will he keep it up? Berrios has been trending down too.

these two teams had a wild series in Minnesota. that 14-12 game was just nuts.

The Twins will once again reprise their somewhat annual role of cannon fodder, they are the Polish army circa 1939/ French army circa 1940, about to be blitzkrieged by the Germans, also known as the Gashouse Gorillas.

They'll get wiped off the diamond in three and for good measure, two of those losses at Williamsport East will be in the bottom of the ninth in nutpunch fashion, Quasimodo will hit a walk off bomb, then "Gardy" will get his bulbous head in the way of a throw home, the ball will ricochet into the upper deck off of his dome and he'll slide home with the winning run, then they fold like a cheap suit in game 3 at home.

They'd be better off just surrendering now to spare us all the misery, hopefully the Astors will smoke the Gashouse Gorillas in the ALCS.

And for the love of all things holy, please Gashouse Gorilla fans; stay out of this thread and stay with your own kind in the other thread on this series.

Interesting bit of strategy here by the Yankees.

Curry: "Having a sizable lead in AL East gave Yankees the freedom, if they so chose, to rest big 4 relievers. And, man, have they rested them. These pitch counts are eye-popping. Chapman: 30 pitches in last 16 days. Britton: 24 in 15. Ottavino: 44 in 15. Kahnle, the workhorse: 69 in 15."

Only hope Twins have for winning the series is that the New York relievers got rusty and their own starters can hit the corners consistently.

Twins in 4. Everything is saying Yankees, and pretty much the MFY rotation vs the Twins looks like an easy sweep. Rocco Baldelli guides these kids to a date with the Astros in the ALCS, where they will not dominate.

There's no way the Yankees lose this series...but if they did, it would be pretty damn satisfying after all the "savages" talk and whatnot we've had to endure this year.

I mean, any Yankee elimination is satisfying but would especially so if it came at the hands of the team they've routinely beat down in the playoffs for essentially all of existence.

Yankees score 25+ runs in a 3-game sweep. I've already said enough about the Twins pitching staff over the season. I think Minnesota and Cleveland combining for 194 wins said more about the rest of the AL Central than it did about them.

I see some have moved into denial and bargaining. You'll accept the inevitable after the Game 2 gut punch 280 foot shot to RF.

I don't know why they insisted on having a "Joe Mauer Tracker." Seems stupid, unless you similarly blame the Red Sox' playoff failures from 1983-1990 on Wade Boggs.

The Twins need to get to the Yankee starters early. They can’t let Happ and Co. go three times through the order. If they don’t have a lead after five innings, it’s over. The Yankees bullpen is too good to overcome late deficits.

I'd be pretty surprised if any Yankee starter is allowed to go three times through the order with all those rested bullpen arms ready to go.

Does anyone , outside of maybe one or two players on the twins, actually expect them to put up a fight in this series?

The Twins are actually pretty good. There's a good chance this is going to be a more competitive series than people are giving them credit for.
