AB's actually telling Tom how to run routes so when we pull that play out again it works.

Every possible interpretation of that video I can think of is awesome, yours in particular. I love to think that it's Tom telling AB how HE is supposed to run WR routes. Like, AB is demonstrating that he would do that swim move to get by a DB who is coming up to press him within 5 yards, and Brady is saying, 'No, just bump into him and turn like this, because I'm just gonna put the ball there on your hip.'

I imagine it might be something like "if I see your inside foot *here* the throw will be here. If I see you get his hips turned when you do *this*, then extend the route this way."

But, in actuality it's an end around throw back to Brady where he's telling AB how he's gonna set up the DB so AB can put the ball in the right spot.

At the end of the day, as long as AB's next IG post isn't in the vein of "This old cracker trying to tell *me* how to run a route?" we're good.

I think it is TB telling AB where to throw it next time they break out the option pass back to the QB on fourth down in the SB. "Throw it better than Amendola, would ya!"

AB took 4 questions today:

Q: Is everything alright with you and the league, are you in good standing?
BROWN: I'm super grateful to be here, to play for Bill Belichick and Tom Brady….I gotta a lot of the offense to learn and catch up but I’m excited and grateful to be here and be a part of these guys.

On playing with Tom Brady:
BROWN: “It’s been a tremendous honor. He’s been here a long time a lot of details, a lot of work ethic, great guy to be around, just inspire everyone here”

Q: How has the process been…
BROWN: “It’s football. I’m grateful to play football. Every time you walk in the door here you know you be your best for the team so every time I walk in here I want to know I’m preparing to be my best.”

Q: What have you heard from the league on your availability?
BROWN: “I appreciate that question. I’m just here to focus on ball and I look forward to getting out there in the home stadium and being with the team.”

As expected, he passed the Belichickian Response to Press Questions 101 class with flying colors.

Maybe he thinks he'll get more targets if he gives Brady a promotion.
It’s even better than that in the video: He starts to say “play for Tom Brady” and catches himself and then says “Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.”

Also: an “honor”? They seem to be way up in his head. Which he could probably use.

Could it be that TB was more conscious about the (possible) pressure and threw the ball earlier than usual? The protection was pretty decent but the ball was released before AB can cut on his route.
It looks like the near side DE / LB blitzed instead of dropped so TB read a hot route of some type and threw to AB knowing there was no one in the underneath zone. AB didn't read / see the blitz, so didn't get his head around and was preparing his full route, probably some cross to the far side.
Learning the playbook

"I appreciate the question" is the most adult thing I've heard him say

Contrast him today with how he came across in some of the leaked texts and things.

Judge also was asked if Brown has been attentive, and if the Patriots are getting what they need from the veteran wideout in the meeting room.

"He's great. He's a football guy all the way," Judge said. "If you're talking football and you're with him, he loves it. He's very engaged. He's very energetic. He brings a great new perspective to a lot of the things we've done, from his experiences elsewhere. He's been fun to work with and learn from."
