Gonna be interesting to see how starting the season with a conference game shakes out for most everyone.

Both teams overrated. I thought KU would be better. Duke didn’t even play well. Duke D causes problems though.

Having three scholarships tied up on guys with serious knee injuries is not the best allocation of resources.

Never thought Brandon Robinson would be so missed.

Duke is playing one of my alma maters tonight. It was somewhat competitive fr 6 or so minutes lol.

Edit: only down 5 at half. Impressive!

SFA came into the game 263rd in KenPom and just beat the #1 team in the country. They were also the first non power 5 team to win at Cameron since 1983.
KenPom is trash this early cause it’s so heavily weighted on last season. SFA had 4 started out all year so we’re trash. They’re a very good defensive team and would’ve beat Rutgers if they hadn’t all caught the flu. It’s amazing they didn’t die tonight since some are still sick.

Duke is crazy crazy good but I don’t know why Coach K played the end like he did.

A miracle upset. Super fun game. Duke from what I’ve seen is still the best team this year.

Stopped paying attention / went to bed and Duke was up like 33-18. This is pretty stunning. Congrats to @canderson and SFA. I was in Cameron the last time a non-conference opponent won there - February 2000, St. John's. Unreal that SFA is the team to break that streak.

He kept taking Vernon Carey out of the game late in OT and I had no idea why he was doing it. Carey was dominating inside.

How long before the NCAA comes down on the player from the Bahamas because this game has apparently caused lots of people to donate to the GoFundMe campaign to rebuild his family's hurricane-leveled house?

SFA Compliance established it under the NCAA’s guidance, it’s legit, And over $121,000 now. It’s incredible.

It had been up since September.

The mannerism similarities between the Jet and his kid, especially the dribbling, are uncanny.

Solid road win tonight from Duke. Down 3 at half, down 7 a minute into the 2nd, and ended up blowing it open to an 18 point lead.

There's a non-zero chance they're not going to win another game this season. If Clemson can't break the Chapel Hill streak this year they never will.

I've made my anti-Virginia position well known. How bad are they that UNC beat them by double digits? As crazy as this sounds I feel that Stony Brook is going to give the Cavs all they can handle tomorrow night to get out with a Win.

UNC heads out west to play Gonzaga. When was the last time Carolina has been a double digit underdog in a non-conference game? I'm not even certain that they were during Matt Doherty's last year or during that one awful Ginyard/Henson team about 10 years ago. There is a real chance it has never occurred until later tonight.

Can't remember/can't find what the spread was, but I'd imagine they were a double-digit or close underdog when they beat #1 Michigan State in East Lansing in 2013 as an unranked team.

Also, UVA beat UNC 56-47 in one of the worst games I've ever had the displeasure of watching.

Ha, nice call. Michigan State opened at -9 and closed at -10 and -10.5's. That UVA-UNC game was so awful I forgot who even won!

Stony Brook played UVA even after spotting them a 12-point lead in games first 4 minutes. UNC appears on the verge of either going down 30 in the 2nd half or boring Gonzaga just enough to fend off embarassment. Heard someone say today "They are still North Carolina".......I'm not sure what that means but those not following closely aren't recognizing just how little talent this team has especially without Cole Anthony. They are starting Kenny Smith's son KJ who couldn't even play rotation minutes at Pacific 3 years ago......and that was the last time he's really played!

I have a new respect for these Gonzaga kids.

Oh no, I don't mean the players. I mean those in the student section tonight as game was winding down with the loud, "WE WANT WOFFORD!" chant! Now this is some good stuff.

(Home Run Baker beat me to this post by a hair)

UNC well on their way to duplicating the disastrous Duke season when Coach K stepped down due to illness. The weird thing about that season was that his long time assistant took over; when the season ended K got rid of him.

Duke was 9-2 when K stepped down, I believe. But 8-8 is close to 9-2
Non-conference W/L wins over Brown, Northeastern, North Carolina A&T, Boston U, and South Carolina State aside...….the joke was that K knew this was going to be a down year and that he bailed on them.

Methinks Duke going down tonight at Clemson. Would be back to back wins for Clemson against Duke and UNC. Wonder if they’ve ever done that.

Edit: of course they’d easily trade both for a win last night...

They may have done it other times but they did for sure in 89-90 - beat UNC 69-61 and then Duke 97-93, both at home.
