Andy Brickley's potty mouth
To first - I’m pretty sure there’s an implication here. I may be reading into it too much, I will grant you that. Mea culpa.

To second - what kind of confirmation are you looking for? Other players saying he had sex with their wives? The wives? It’s pretty well known; in the press and personally (I have friends that work in the business, including tour, Callaway, TM, GC), I don’t want to go TheoShmeo here, but yeah, he banged multiple other tour players wives. I’m not a huge fan of infidelity or home breakers, but your mileage may vary.

Not saying I’m right to even speculate, but just saying if true, he had it coming.
I wasn't trying to play gotcha, was genuinely curious.

It's all rumors obviously but there are multiple reports from "insiders" that DJ banged Amanda Dufner and that led to the divorce. Also rumors of Tiger getting at her too which shouldn't surprise anyone.

My french isn't much but that L'Equipe article says Tiger was a good teammate throughout but was physically drained from playing in as many tournaments as he did and Bubba seemed like he didn't want to be there.

Also someone is quoted as saying "The team atmosphere was terrible. Furyk was devastated"
Tiger did look absolutely knackered and very puffy in the face and eyes he looked like someone that just lost a family member to be honest

Apologies for getting defensive; I thought it was more common knowledge that there's been rumors for years about him sleeping around with other Tour wives, back to before he had his, I guess again rumored, drug suspension. As Vegas notes, Dufner's wife was one (and they since split up), there was rumors of a couple more and there's scuttlebutt out there that DJ and Gretzky are split up right now (and the deleting of the Instagram photos) because DJ was having an affair with Yassie Safai.

MYRTLE BEACH!!!!
Can’t expect the rangers to yell fore every time an American tees it up. Just assume its in the crowd and come up with a call if its heading for the fairway. Save the vocal cords.

It is a really sad situation, but it is also inevitable when you continue to try to squeeze 100K people onto a course where they are playing golf. I'm surprised there aren't more serious injuries.

But if you're going to stand in the "hot zone" where drives are landing, you gotta keep an eye out for the ball.
Absolutely, even if it is 30 yards from the fairway. But I am just not sure how much the react, get out of the way instinct works, as you see the ball coming, how quickly does that person standing 300 yards out realize the ball is coming straight at their head, as the balls have so much arc/spin

Standing anywhere near where a tee shot would land is not only dangerous, it's probably the most boring spot on the course to stand. I'd much rather either be up at the tee, seeing the guys take swings to generate 300+ yd shots, or on the green to see approach shots come and and then birdies, etc.

Not on 6 it wasn't. 6 was a drivable par 4. The TV guys mentioned numerous times during coverage on Friday when the tees were moved up that the gallery was crazy standing that close to the action on 6...drivable par 4 and the gallery was standing as close to the green as they would on a par 3.

Fair points. Really puts things into focus.

Having spent so much time at the US Open, you may have no idea the ball is coming at you. Most people are looking at their phones or talking with others around them and aren't paying attention to the ball flight.

Agreed on watching approach shots land over tee shots.
Disagree on watching those shots being taken.
I’d rather watch a guy shape an approach, take a measured 3/4 to control distance, compress for spin, etc. I think top tier ball striking with irons is much more impressive than guys just bombing away, but to each their own. But in person, I’d rather watch Stenrik hit an iron over DJ hit a driver (though, you can do both). Both are equally impressive in their own right, imo.

As to getting hit, I’m always shocked no one has gotten killed yet. (Have they?) The few tournaments I’ve been to, depending on the layout and proximity to other holes, it’s certainly easy enough to get distracted and not even know a guy is teeing off. Some courses you can find a spot where you can watch multiple holes at once - tee shot here, approach to that one, green on this one; certain tournaments the crowd is raucous enough to easily distract you.

I disagree. From recent experience at the Dell tourney, standing near the landing zone is awesome. Balls just outside the ropes mean you get like 3 feet from the guys hitting their second shot into the green. It is incredibly cool to see them swing that close out of the rough and just do whatever they want with the ball.

Agree. It is one spot where skill is on great display. Not worth an eye, perhaps, but a great vantage point.

I hope I don't hit a nerve here, but I'm not sure you saw what @FL4WL3SS was going for in his comment. Totally blindsided you.
