This seems like a very visually intimidating course. Water everywhere, high rough that make all the fairways look even more narrow than they are.

We’ve got a match all square on 17 and haven’t seen a shot.
Since the last commercial break, we haven't seen a single shot from TWO of the competitions going on right now. Note, there are only 3 matches being played.

How can they be so bad at this?

I’m here in Paris at the tournament. Got last minute tickets on a vacation already planned, and my wife was cool enough to use this as our excursion outside the city rather than Versailles or Chartres.

Took 2.5 hours to get from our hotel into the Le Golf Nationale after waking up at 5. But it’s been worth it. The course is definitely intimidating, as you have mentioned. Can’t imagine hitting some of these tee shots.

The event itself is wonderful. Organizers have done a great job from transportation to bathrooms to concessions. It’s my first ever golf tournament, so maybe all of the major tourneys are like this, though I can’t imagine many better.

Three most common cheers:
“Eur-ope, Eur-ope”
“USA, USA)
“Tiger!”

Mostly cloudy today but the wind is picking up a little as the sun breaks through.

On the 17th green right now. US up 2-0 but saw Spieth miss a tight putt.

Been following you guys all morning when the WiFi kicks in. Love that you’ve been up all night. Great stuff all around.

In 15 minutes of watching sky coverage, I think the showed almost every shot and no commercials.
Just rub it in why don’t you. I know it’s been covered but NBC/Golf channel is atrocious. I was up at 4:45 and finally caught up to live thanks to all the commercials.

Can’t be upset with the morning. Koepka/Finau stole a point and the other two matches were solid. Spieth finding his form with JT is enormous.

Everything can turn this afternoon, long way to go.

Also, Fleetwood/Molinari is gonna be a problem. They’re a great team.

Umm, that was specifically why I provided a link sharing their coverage with everybody.

Worlds End
They may have had the foursome pairings set in stone. Harder to make a change to a foursome pairing on the fly.
Agreed, but assume they do their pod system for exactly this reason. Olesen was much better than Rory in the am. Swapping those two seems fairly straightforward.
One of the reasons I should say...

Bubba seems like a guy who would be a really bad partner in alternate shot. His Ryder Cup record reflects that - lost the only foursomes matches he played in 2010 and 2012, didn't play in any foursomes sessions in 2014.
This take is aging well.
