If I remember from previous years, NESN puts a livestream on their website that anyone can watch, but I may not be remembering correctly. Is there a way to watch this for us "out of towner's" (being in Ohio) that don't have a subscription to NESN or any of your local Boston or MA news networks that you guys are aware of??

You could keep an eye on the NECN website. They generally have extensive coverage of the parade and may possibly have some of it visible online. That's one possibilty for you.Is there a way to watch this for us "out of towner's" (being in Ohio) that don't have a subscription to NESN or any of your local Boston or MA news networks that you guys are aware of??
Yup. I’ve been able to watch all three on MLBN in NorCal. I see they have a TBA on Wednesday morning (my provider DirecTV). Hope that’s it.MLBN has shown it in past years as well.
2004 was the only one that actually went out on the water, no? I don't remember any of the other parades doing it, regardless of team. That 'OnlyinBoston' graphic is misleading - looks like they grabbed the parade route - and starting time - from an earlier win (who knows which one? We've had so many I can't keep track any more) . Start time is 11 - not 10 - and there is, sadly, no rally at city hall plaza once the parade ends. No water element, either. But a fun time just the same!!
This is your photo, isn't it? It's simply fantastic.View attachment 24444 They were on the water in 2013...
It is...thanks...that was such a fun day!! I love when they take the boats out on the water, but can certainly understand with it being Halloween and all, that the additional time/length would make things that much more difficult. This is your photo, isn't it? It's simply fantastic.
They started at Fenway in 2013 and let season ticket holders into the park. I haven't received an email about it this year. Or any email directly from the Red Sox about the parade. Maybe they're still working on the final details.Did they come back to Fenway after the parade in 2013? It would be cool to go in there if they do something afterward.
I hope it happens so Tom Werner can reprise his amazing cheer from 2013... probably one of my favorite moments ever:They started at Fenway in 2013 and let season ticket holders into the park. I haven't received an email about it this year.
FWIW, I went in 2013, got there early and was right outside the park at the beginning of the route. Once the duck boats roll out and pass you by, you can bug out and be on your way back home. I would say that we were there somewhere between 7:30-8:00 AM and folks were already about 10 deep. One added bonus being near the park is that the souvenir shops were open and stocked with WS swag.Q: coming down from Maine for parade with two kids in tow. Need to be back for the trick/treating. Im about 2 hours north of city.
Obviously, Going to be a pretty quick trip. With that said, does anyone have any suggestions on where to go to see the parade to best maximize time etc?
Thanks...
Speaking of 2013, mlbn has a retrospective of that post-season on right now.I love everything you got for 2013, but especially the water shots!
I hope everyone is as happy tomorrow as they were in 2013.

Darn, I'm only a 10-game ticket holder and got invited into the park in 2013, guess it is only full or 20-game and above ticket holders this year...unless they are staging the emails and working their way "down" to the partial season tix holders. And I just got the email. Same deal as before, season ticket holders can get into the park to see the start of it, the duck boats start rolling out at 11.
They've been showing the MLB films of all three previous titles this morning. I haven't been able to turn it off. Which raises the question: who narrates the 2018 edition? 2004 was Denis Leary. 2007 was Matt Damon. 2013 was Ben Affleck. What celeb with Boston ties gets the assignment this year?Speaking of 2013, mlbn has a retrospective of that post-season on right now.
I saw that too this morning. 8 am here. Looks like good weather there. MLBN had 2 hour 2007, and 2013 Red Sox World Series highlights this morning. Maybe 2004, didn't see. Jacoby Ellsbury was super in 07.mlbn is definitely b'casting the parade, starting 11 am.
I vote for David Ortiz.Which raises the question: who narrates the 2018 edition? 2004 was Denis Leary. 2007 was Matt Damon. 2013 was Ben Affleck. What celeb with Boston ties gets the assignment this year?
How about John Krasinski? They've been showing the MLB films of all three previous titles this morning. I haven't been able to turn it off. First time seeing this. Incredible. ThanksI hope it happens so Tom Werner can reprise his amazing cheer from 2013... probably one of my favorite moments ever:
Gee, I hope this doesn't happen. His accent is so strong that I would need subtitles. Now, in case you think that means I don't love him, forgeddaboudit. Pedro still has an accent, but I understand every word out of his mouth. How about him?I vote for David Ortiz.
That anyone can say this ("every parade until 2013") and it means many parades...is amazing. We are so lucky! My bet is Mark Wahlberg.
Man I hate missing the parade. I was at every parade until 2013 and it never gets old.
Whether annoyed or happy, this seems very appropriate. I know they were there in 2013 also. They definitely represent Boston in the right way, and while I am not a huge fan of their music, I say: bring it on!In news that will make some happy and others annoyed, Dropkick Murphys will be leading off in the first duck boat.
I find this compromise very much acceptable.Gee, I hope this doesn't happen. His accent is so strong that I would need subtitles. Now, in case you think that means I don't love him, forgeddaboudit. Pedro still has an accent, but I understand every word out of his mouth. How about him?
