Tiger turns in -4 for the day, -16 for the tournament and a shot back of the lead. The final group is spinning its wheels and keeping the field in it.

yes i know one of Keegan's putts fell as he approached the hole, but he has missed two 3-footers (one to save par and one for birdie) - he should be leading

Finau is playing better. Including the US Open, he's played in 9 tournaments with 6 top 10s (3 for 3 in the playoffs too) and 3 top 5s (a chance to go 3 for 3 in the playoffs here if he can get a stroke back). In that same time period, Keegan has 2 top 5s (assuming he doesn't implode today) and a bunch of middling results.

Not over yet. Rose comes up 10 yards short of the green on his approach.

New playoff format is going in next year.

Season will still end at the Wyndham, but they’ve created a “Wyndham Rewards Top 10” which is bonus that pays out the top 10 in the FedEx point standings after the Wyndham. Regular season points leader would collect $2 million, and then staggers down from there. 10th gets $500k. The idea here is to boost the Wyndham field and create additional drama.

Playoffs- Northern Trust will be 125 players, 70 at the BMW and then 30 at East lake.

Tour Championship will feature a handicap system so to speak. The leader in the FedEx points standings going into the tournament will start the tournament at -10. 2nd, -8 and so on down to 26th-30th who will begin at E. You win the Tour Championship, you win FedEx Cup. They are trying to eliminate situations where 1 guy wins the tournament (Schauffele) and another guy wins the FedEx Cup (JT). So long, endless Steve Sands love projections during the broadcast. They’ve also juiced the FedEx Cup total purse to $60 million, with the winner getting $15 million.

Yeah I don’t like it either.

It’ll never happen because of TV, but I still think match play for the prize is the best way to go.

Yeah, it seems like they don’t so much want the Tour Championship winner to be the fed ex cup winner but they want the guy ranked #1 in points going in to it to win the tournament.
