Sorry about that. Was offline last night. Will have my pick in a few minutes. (Wanted Cabrera Bello, of course.)

Edit: Comes down to two guys. With more than a little trepidation, I'll take JIMMY WALKER.

I was considering Walker when I took Bubba. I think he's the same kind of high upside value at this point as Bubba and Zach. As long as he stayed out of the long grass this off-season, that is.
Walker and Bubba were the two worst picks of last year based on spot taken and points received.

Bubba - Drafted 16th - got 23 points for tied for 93rd or -77
Walker - Drafted 14th - got 24 points for tied for 89th or -75

Good luck they both are solid golfers who could have big bounce back years, but clearly last year struggled.

Well sure, that's why they were available in the third round instead of being taken in the first. The year before last they each got 50 points.

They don't even sniff Willett in that category. Maybe all time worst pick ever in this league (that's something I'd be curious about).

Walker had lime disease or whatever it was last season. His 2017 feels more flukey than a dip in play. From 2013-2016 he was pretty consistent; 6 wins including a major, 27 top 10’s.

Bubba’s always been more volatile. He’s either awesome or he sucks. 2014-2015 Bubba was awesome with 5 wins, a major, and 19 top 10’s. 2013 and 2016-2017 was sucky Bubba. He only had 1 win and 15 top 10’s over those 3 seasons. To me at least it always seems like there’s no middle ground with him. Being a total douche also contributed to his falling to the 3rd round.

I have had Walker a number of times, and like I said very solid golfer. I do think though that both Walker and Watson are on the wrong side of 35 and neither have shown me much reason to be excited about a strong 2018 from either of them. Though I could be wrong and am a number of times.

TFP - what year was Willett? I vaguely remember that blow up year.

Willett was last year. Dropped from 11th to 104th in OWGR from year end 2016 to now.

Edit: by my quick count he picked up 5 points in our league last season.

This came from my buddy at Titleist so take it FWIW but for someone that relies on ball movement as much as Bubba does to switch balls was incredibly foolish. He opted out early of his new ball deal and is playing his old Titleist ball for free.

If we are going to have this discussion let's do it right. Here's your bottom 10 picks from last year. 4 6 3 DP appears to be the "winner" here with 3 of the bottom 6.

Could I change my pick right now
Nevermind on my question I will just stick with the guy I took (hope it doesn't crush me).
No - once submitted and bolded that's it. Would need to be very mitigating circumstances beyond buyer's remorse to allow it.

Last year. He was basically nonexistent.

I know that Walker’s poor year was due to Lyme Disease. My hope is that he’s through that, but everyone reacts differently to that condition.

He’s a solid player, so I think I’ll be fine with him in the third round. My “trepidation” is the uncertainty factor.

So as all bolded picks are final please remind me not to make my pick from an airplane while struggling with in-flight wifi (for next year).

The all time worst pick, for me, is tied between:

JohnMD's Louis Oosthuizen taken 3rd OVERALL the first year we did it

and

DOTB's Carl Peterson first round pick in the first year we did it.

I like the dedication to picking while 30000 feet up...has to be a record height for a pick

I never really followed golf before this league and I remember after that Oosthuizen pick thinking "Man I guess I missed something in my research".

Wait, you started following golf just so you can join a fantasy league? That’s a special kind of degenerate gambling I’ll get behind.

I too am puzzled by your thinking the Grace pick is bad - everything I have researched shows him to be healthy and his value at that pick should be pretty good. I am now wondering who you think is this golden pick that everyone else has missed and you now want.

Why do you feel you screwed up your pick so badly? I think it's a fine pick. Top 50 in the world and plays a decent amount of events. He's a good player.
Also, since the next guy hasn't picked yet, I don't see a problem with changing.
I have no idea why he thinks Grace is a shitty pick, nor do I see a problem with him making a different pick so long as he gets it in before the next guy picks.

Having said that, one of the guilty pleasures of this league is watching people agonize over their picks, and I'll admit that I chuckled while watching heavyde050 wrestle with his conscience essentially from the minute he hit the "post" button.

Regardless of how this one turns out, I think hd050 is in for some ribbing for the remainder of the year. (With the explicit understanding that we've all had titanic fuckups.)

Wait, you started following golf just so you can join a fantasy league? That’s a special kind of degenerate gambling I’ll get behind.
"Golf? Never really gave it a thought. But hell, here's a chance to gamble..."

I have no words for how awesome this is.

That first year was definitely a learning exercise. I remember taking Nicolas Colsaerts in the 2nd round thinking it was a steal. He was back in Europe full time by the end of the year. Yeesh.

I think of the 8 guys I drafted the first year, like 2 of them still actually have tour cards. It was brutal. I know I had Rose and then added Spieth at the add/drop which won me a few events, but I remember my roster being putrid. I think I had Bob Estes and Troy Matteson. Oof.

DOTB took Bowditch in the 2nd round one year, didn't he? That was....aggressive.
If someone else didn't mention it, I was going to. The Carl Pettersson pick in the first round was bad, but Bowditch went from being a pretty damn good golfer to the absolute worst golfer in the history of the PGA Tour immediately after I drafted him. Every week, he was shooting like 85 in round 1. I swear he wouldn't have beaten half of the club champs at the local munis that year, and I'm not sure he's gotten much better since. That said, with my whatever round pick this is, I'm taking a rookie who has already tasted the winner's circle. Here's hoping he's next real deal to come off the Web:

Hey I’m sure everyone is cool with not holding people to the 24hour rule over Christmas Eve and Christmas right?
Yes. We are ahead of the game and have plenty of time left, so as long as we can make good progress up to Saturday that should be fine.
