Defense-heavy draft this year. Not an otherworldly year by anyone’s definition but a solid draft class overall.

If the B’s can trade into the top half of round 1, I’d imagine they’re targeting Smith or Boqvist on the blue line

I don’t see how they get into the top half unless it is something like Krug for #10 that Chiarelli is dangling. I’m not sure I want the Bruins doing that though unless they have some sort of plan lined up to upgrade on Krug.

Would you entertain Krug and a 3rd for Klefbom and the #10? I’d have to seriously consider it. McAvoy can take Krug’s power play time and Klefbom adds size to that left side. Edmonton gets the power play QB they’ve been looking for at resonable money.

That's a trade I'd make

Me too, but I feel like the Bruins need to add. Chiarelli gonna Chiarelli though I guess.
Yeah the fact that I would like it as a Bruins fan makes me think it would have to include a prospect I like as well. Like Frederic.

I wouldn’t do Frederic but maybe they could consolidate some of the surplus wing and d prospects in such a trade.

No I can't imagine the Bruins add Frederick. I suspect he and Urhu are the 2 most untouchable players the Bruins have who haven't made their JOB debut. Frederick is such a critical organizational need, he might be #1 on the untouchable list.

How if it involves adding a Cehlerik, plus maybe a d prospect. Maybe eve Bjork, but no Tfred

#10 is moderately interesting, maybe Dobson, whalstrom, or Bouchard drop. not sure I see any value in doing it for some like Ty Smith or Quinn hughes, who seem like maybe they become Krug in 3 years

Are there any rumors going around of anyone else biting on the 10?

If I'm the Bruins I probably wait it out and see if someone is still available at 10 that I really want, and also see if the price drops. The draft is such a crap soot, though (although it seems like the Sweeney crew has done a good job with it), that I lean toward just keeping Krug. I honestly still think he is a more valuable piece to the Bruins than to most other teams out there, and I doubt they get what we want for him if they do move him because of that.

There’s no specific rumors about it other than Chiarelli repeatedly saying that he would trade that pick for an offensive defenseman. Speculation has the connected Krug because he is an offensive defenseman and obviously has history with Chiarelli.

Panarin and Pacioretty among the bigger names being floated to move this draft.

Sharks put Paul Martin on waivers for the purpose of a buyout. I just mention this as an excuse to post this video again.

Also, Robin Lehner will not be tendered a deal by Buffalo, and Craig Anderson has requested a trade out of Ottawa (good luck)

Seems like Ottawa is keeping #4. I think they should just rip the band aid off and be done with it.

Been rumors about Ryan O’Reilly too. Apparently Buffalo was asking MTL for the #3 pick for ROR.

Kovalchuk seems to be holding up the trade market for wingers, as there’s overlap in the teams who are interested in Kovy and then Skinner and Paciorrety.

He sounds like an okay prospect, but Blade Jenkins is easily the best name on the draft board.

He has decent size and is a pest to play against, especially down low. He is as equally good a scorer as he is a playmaker. His high IQ allows him to make the correct play in order to drive the offense. While his offensive instincts are above average, his skating and play away from the puck are works in progress. The skating has improved but will be a point of emphasis for him at the next level.

I have sat in Paul Martin's seats at an NHL game (old co-worker went to high school with him), so I will refrain from making fun of the fact that he's going to get paid a lot of money to not play in the NHL.

So Wahlstrom is a better goal scorer than Billy Guerin now? I mean come on. Let him play a game first.
It was just such an odd comparison. Yes both players have good shots, but nothing else about Whalstrom's game resembles Dollar Bill's other than the shot

Strange pick. Redline HATES him, calls him lost on defense, and had him 150

Ty Anderson from 98.5: "I say this as an admitted prospect bozo: Like the Andersson pick. 6'1 right-shot defenseman with offensive pop. Third-most points among D in SWE-JR last year. Bruins loading their pipeline up with defense."

Wow on Lauko

Redline had him at 18. Considered a top 2 skater in the draft. Incredible skating ability. Perfect balance, excellent East West, and extra gear acceleration. Natural sniping skills.

Lauko played a year in the Czech league as a 17 year old. 3G/6A/9P in 42 games. Scouting reports praise his skating ability, work ethic, and personality.

Those are good things. They also might be a nice way of saying he has a Dan Paille skillset. Still, I like the pick a lot

If a third rounder turns into Dan Paille on an ELC I’ll take that every day of the week.
