Through three weeks, Ben is the 3rd QB by my count to question a roughing call.

He was preceded by Cousins and Alex Smith, at least.

The criticism is muted because, as Ben notes, they can’t be in the position of overtly criticizing the officiating.

And in context, this questioning is a declaration against their own interest by the QBs.

Ben, of course, is the poster boy for the irrationality of this approach. It is literally impossible for any defensive player in this League to take him to the ground under the rules as they exist. Keep it up, NFL.

Nowhere was that more true than on the clinching play last night, where two defenders reached him and appeared to go easy and grab him gently... and he then writhed free, as he does, and eventually made a play out of nothing that converted the third down and iced the game.
