I've watched about a million NFL games with bad spots in the final 2 minutes, and I don't think I've ever seen the booth call down for a review as quickly as they did there. What's up with the AFC North and very sympathetic officiating? Is there a bonus for the refs if they get multiple teams into the playoffs?
Wait, they would have done a 10 second runoff from 55 to 45 seconds, but if they give them the timeout, they get 1:08 on the clock? Umm hell yeah, take the timeout.
There's no way I'd want the Patriots to face the Ravens in the playoffs. They'd run right over that front 7.
I feel like you can’t find 3 better pass rush plays if you pick from the entire Patriots season
IMO, I wouldn't worry about the Ravens running game against the Pats defense. We're generally ok stopping the run, when that's what the Pats are gearing up to stop. A lot of the games this year, where our run defense has gotten gashed was against teams that we were basically daring them to run. The Steelers, Chiefs, Vikings, Dolphins (in the first game), etc. were all games that we were committed to not letting them beat us with their receivers, so we gave up the run.
That said, I wouldn't want to face the Ravens because of their defense. That's what scares the shit out of me at this point. If a team can get pressure on Brady, our receiving corps continues to look like shit (and now, with no Gordon) and we can't run the ball, that's got disaster written all over it.

I get that they dared some teams to run, but I don't think they're good enough to stop the Ravens running game even if they're playing a heavier front.
Icing the kicker on a 65 yarder is so dumb. The kicker isn't going to be bothered by it. It's essentially a free roll.
God, I hope not. Only playoff game I ever left early. That game was over from the first play of the game. The Pats couldn't do anything and couldn't stop anything.
Even the characters playing beside him in the commercials find him annoying. Why Verizon hitched its wagon to that personality is beyond me.

Who's Middleditch? I thought you guys were talking about an announcer and I couldn't figure it out. I don't watch commercials, so that probably explains why I have no idea who you're talking about.

Except when the call could go against the Chargers. Then the flags come out every time. Feels so much like last week's Pats game.
LOL, Antonio Gates has not yet realized that he's almost 40 years old, overweight and slow. Just catch it, and run forward as far as you can man.
Gates is a dummy. He should have just fell forward when he caught it, instead of the slow motion juke move that cost him a yard, and ultimately the football itself.
