There was 1 season ages ago where the Pats making the playoffs required like 8 things to fall into place over the last 4 or 5 weeks. And every one of those things happened.

This post season, hell this whole season, seems exactly like that.

And ballgame.
There was one may ages ago where the Pats missing the playoffs required six or seven things that happened, and it happened.

It would be so much fun to win 3 out of 4 at the Eagles expense again.
I am probably just bitter as I lived outside Philly for well over a decade.

Not sure who would have been a tougher matchup, but crushing the souls of douchebag Philly fans would be infinitely more satisfying that doing same to long-suffering Minnesotans on their home field.

Much like the Chris Evans - Chris Pratt superhero bet, I can't wait to see the Chris Evans - Bradley Cooper superhero bet. Though getting the animated racoon to visit kids in the hospital is going to be a little trickier

Welp. At least I don’t have to worry about being at odds with my friends/neighbors.

A fanbase of a team featuring Nick Foles as their starting QB (an admittedly awesome Foles today but still...) wants to face Tom Brady? Frankly, were I an Eagles fan, I would be terrified of facing the Patriots.

My family went to Pats/Eagles I in Jax. Said the Eagles fans were as obnoxious as they’ve ever seen.

Crazy that this play ends up not mattering.
Perhaps---I think Saints might have won it all, they present a totally different challenge for Philly than Minny does. And I wanted nothing to do with Saints in Super Bowl, in spite of what happened in the early season this year.

I just assumed when they said they wanted Brady it was to be their QB. I don't think they said anything about wanting to face him.

This is the thread where you and I consider it an amazing privilege that we, as Patriots fans, have something to worry about heading into another Superbowl.
Yeah to be clear I was kidding. You should expect to have to beat a great team to win the Super Bowl. I find the worrying funny. The other teams are good too, and have a chance to win.

My favorite passage in Terry Francona's book is his description of driving down I-95 to spring training in 2005 immediately after the Super Bowl, honking and giving the finger to all the cars festooned with Eagles flags in the northbound lanes.

Would not be surprising to see Blount and Long make plays in the Super Bowl but I don't think the Eagles have enough to beat the Pats.

Oh I know and I liked your joke. To be serious, the Eagles are good and Foles plays like this in two weeks, they can easily beat the Patriots.

That said, I mean, how fucking lucky are we?

I was in Jacksonville in 2005 for the last Pats/Eagles Super Bowl. There were legions of Eagles fans there without tickets to the game just roaming the streets of Jacksonville, and as far as I can tell their only goal in being there was to generally act like a bunch of assholes.

I have nothing against the Eagles franchise, but their fans suck.
