If Cat won today she may have been able to challenge Nunez (Amanda beat her back in 2014).

But we all know a rematch with Cyborg is coming next. Now the former champ will have to come in with a whole new approach then.

So, Nunez has beat Zingnano, Shevchenko, Tate, Rousey, and now the great Cris Cyborg.

Unbelievable.

I hope she becomes even half the star she deserves to be. Gotta figure she's the best lady to do it and top 10ish all time

And Rousey / Cyborg in the first round. I guess she’s the new GOAT?
She's going to be a superstar
Somehow, I doubt it.

Bones is minus 290. Seems heavy seeing as Gus kicked his ass last time.

Hope it’s a good fight.

Bones was impressive. Gus fucked up on the ground, he gave Jon a gift by giving up his back.

Funny, but he's a really likable guy, excluding the hit and run and drug tests.

And does DC win that fight?

Still cant believe Gus fought off that half nelson like he was afraid of being pinned in a wrestling match and gave up his back. Bones was looking like he was going to win either way but that was strange.

Yea, he's going forward, but I think it's more injury related, no?

His take down defense is usually pretty good. That looked weak.

His leg is messed up, but to me it just looks like Jones surprised him. Gus looks confused, like he's thinking should I crossface...and whilehe is deciding what to do, it's too late. He defended take downs beautifully up until then. Jones just got him.

so, he can't defend in vegas, yeah?
Not necessarily. Novitsky explained that the commission was willing to weigh the evidence in a public hearing but due to scheduling it wouldn’t have taken place until a yesterday or the day before. They couldn’t risk it so went with CA which was familiar with Jon’s case. They are still going forward with the public hearin in Q1 next year supposedly, so we’ll see.

Far from any road.
Csac being more familiar was more bullshit by the ufc FYI as they hid two failed tests from them to get this license for Saturday. Novitsky completely full of shit here. Foster not happy to find this out thru the press after giving the license. This was about getting the books up on a bad year minus Khabib Conor, not a clean main event. WME already looking to unload UFC.

It's gonna be cool when this becomes a no-contest after Jones fails his piss test again.

GOAT my ass, the guy's been on the gas for every big fight he ever had.

Just curious, who do you consider to be the GOAT?

Which failed tests did they hide? Do you have a link to support this? Because he was openly talking about all of them on the podcast 3 days before the fight, so that would be weird.

Everybody is trying to be Skip Bayless these days.
Nunes' resume is as follows:

Killed the career of the biggest, most famous and most dominant woman fighter in UFC history
Killed the career of that woman's biggest rival
Knocked out the most feared women in MMA in 51 seconds
Beat the current women's flyweight champion TWICE

find me anyyyyyyone who comes close to that

She shouldn’t get any credit for the Rousey win. My only issue with having a woman be th GOAT is, it’s like the heavyweight division - it’s unclear there’s a critical mass of talent and experience there yet. Remember when people thought Rousey was so amazing, and then other women started participating in the sport?

All that said. She IS the women’s GOAT.

You could even make the argument that cyborg was never really tested against high caliber competition in MMA.

Nunez has demolished all comers and even went up a weight class to take out the previous GOAT

Woman’s GOAT for sure, though I’ll be interested to see what Thug Rose can put together. She seems slightly more naturally talented to me, but could just be my bias at play.

I don't know who the GOAT is, but that's exactly how Skip Bayless would respond to the question.

And that is why. But I can understand it. Nunez is certainly the Woman's GOAT right now. Eventually she'll probably be considered the best of the pioneers in women's MMA . Maybe something like a female Fedor?

Agreed, and I think women’s MMA may have a higher upside than men’s because women have fewer alternative contact sport options and no real home for larger athletes.
