They need to raise the stakes for UConn/URI. If UConn loses, then the Huskies get sent down to FCS. If URI loses, the Rams football program is disbanded after the season.

Harvard set to start their season at home vs. San Diego...and takes a delay of game on the opening kickoff.

Joe Restic, somewhere, nods in approval.

(That was just for me. Restic was head coach for a long and reasonably successful run in the 70s and 80s, aside from a poor record against Yale. Restic created an offense, the Multiflex, that was so complicated the Crimson were good for 4-5 delay of game flags every game. Don’t recall one on a kickoff though.)

Rutgers offense today so far vs Kansas

Drive 1
Dropped pass
-1 yard run
2 yard pass

Drive 2
Almost intercepted
Pick 6

Drive 3
Timeout on 1st and 10
Yep, that's my alma mater. I'm not sure why RU decided to go big into sports. New Brunswick is a 45-minute train ride from NYC. When I was there, I preferred to go to MOMA or a play than watch Rutgers play football.

FSU QB, DeAndre ("The Statue") Francois continues to get pounded by the vaunted Syracuse defense, and the 'Cuse have the lead 6-0 in the third. Unfortunately, the Orangemen do-everything QB, Eric Dungey, was hurt in the 1st half, and hasn't come out of the locker room since halftime. I fully expect FSU to pull this out in the end because of that, and Francois will probably lead one good drive and everyone will congratulate him for it.

Biggest regular season game for Boise State since Georgia in 2011. A will in Stillwater paves the path to a big time bowl game and an outside shot at the playoff. A loss, well, shoot for the MWC title and another Vegas (or equivalent) bowl.

Syracuse now up 20-0 on FSU coming up on the end of the 3rd. Another sack of Francois just led to a punt by FSU, and a big punt return has Syracuse right back in FSU territory.

Syracuse pounds another one in, and they now lead 29-7 with the extra point pending, 3 minutes left. Willie Taggart will not be long for FSU.

Not just for you - I hear you loud and clear. :) (I got heartburn just reading the word "Multiflex"...)

Kansas beat Rutgers today. That's the first time this decade they've had back to back FBS wins. Umm, good for them, I guess.

Jimbo Fisher left FSU a train wreck. The rebuild in Tallahassee will be a long one. But there will be few tears. Lots of teams will want to and will in fact stomp on them Over the next season or two.

5 minutes left in the first half and SMU just scored to tie Michigan 7-7.

Also Temple curbstomped Maryland. Texas might lose by 30 to a 17 year old tonight,

Even though Michigan is now up 21-7, today is not a good day for the Big Ten. An Ohio State loss tonight would be interesting.

Rough week for the Big 10. Kansas blows the doors off Rutgers, passing the torch as worst P5 program. Maryland loses to Temple. Nebraska loses to Troy and now Wisconsin going down to BYU at home.

Wisconsin were 21 point favorites.

One question I've always had, why is LSU never ever referred to be its full name of Louisiana State? (Whereas for example, people will refer to Florida State as both Florida State and FSU).

Ole Miss with the td on the 1st play against Bama. 75 yards. Ole Miss receiving corps is the best in the Nation. Watch out tonight.

And quickly untied, as Bama goes deep on 3rd down for a long td pass. Tua is 11/11 on 3rd down this year for like 275 yards and a bunch of scores. Wow.

If you call for a fair catch on a kickoff in college and you catch it at the 5, it still goes to the 25? That makes no sense to me, is that some new rule?

Yes... can fair catch a kickoff anywhere to place the ball at the 25.

In the Harvard/San Diego game, a San Diego returned fair caught a ball straddling the goal line. The official placed the ball on the one and the announcers ripped the returner, before everyone remembered the rule change.
