God it's so good to have college football back. Nice spacing of games with Washington/Auburn and Michigan/ND not up against each other, and the other 2 ranked vs. ranked games on Sunday and Monday.

Has there been any hoopla in Connecticut over UConn opening their season with a home game vs the defending National Champions*?

Went to the game - annual group thing with a bunch of friends. Not sold out. UCF runs a no huddle. UConn started all frosh and sophomores on D. You can imagine how that went.

UConn offense looked better than it had in past. And it was a perfect night temp/weather wise for football. So we got that going for us.

Which is nice.

URI beat #15 Delaware on the road 21-19.
This might not seem like a big deal for fans of other programs, but this is a big deal for URI. This stopped a 22 game losing streak against ranked opponents. It was the first opening game win since 2009. The last time we had a winning season, back in 2001 when Ja Rule was a star, started with a win. At number 4 Delaware on Thursday, August 30th.

This is not a big deal for URI in any sense. That program has always been a waste of time and resources and the occasional big win is irrelevant. 17 years since they’ve had a winning season says it all.
Rhody should have killed that football program two decades ago.

Maryland vs. Texas -- Texas proving that not much as changed in eight years. Haven't attempted a pass in past two series, two three and outs.

I’m at this shitshow. Texas fucking blows and has had a billion Yards in penalties and is getting itss ass handed to them by mighty Maryland.

I want to die.

Washington finally looks good on offense during the two minute drill to cut it to 13-15 with 43 seconds left in the half. They should come out in the second half with the hurry up.

Damn shame, Texas had the momentum before the delay. Good for MD going for it on 4th and 6 or whatever it was. Last 2 minutes look rough for UT.

Maryland with the pick with a minute to go, which should seal it. Gotta be happy for the Maryland kids, but geez, Texas needs to figure some shit out. Erhlinger isn't taking them to the promised land.

I'm sorry but that late fumble call was horseshit. I saw no evidence to overturn the call on the field.

That was one of the worst football games I've ever seen. The officials completely obliterated the flow of the game and eventually decided the winner.

The Texas version of Paul Finebaum must be in heaven right now. Can just shut up and take calls for days and days.

If you do die, at least your estate can probably bring manslaughter charges against MD.

Texas has no running game, no passing game, can’t tackle and is the most undisciplined team I’ve ever seen.

Maryland has true freshmen make Texas look like a DII program.

PSU tied with Appy State in the 4th quarter. BTW it’s the 11 anniversary of the Michigan upset.
At some point, teams are going to realize you don't schedule App State early in the season. Haven't they had a couple other huge upsets since the Michigan one?

Comcast dropping the Big Ten Network outside Big Ten states took exactly one week to piss me the fuck off.

I was there in 2007 in Ann Arbor. Objectively one of the greatest sporting events I have been to despite being a UM grad school grad. It is happening again tonight.

Hey, at least Comcast kept the SEC Network for us here in Boston. This Arkansas/Eastern Illinois game is a barn burner.

Penn State ties it up with 42 seconds left. First play after the kickoff, App State completes a 30 yard pass, already back in Penn State territory.

I really hate to be the “refs suck” guy but I’ve only been watching this Auburn game for a while and it’s 3 laughable calls that the refs were looking right at.

Edit: last one made right by replay
