Serge Gnabry goes from Werder Bremen to Bayern.
Signs a 3year contract and his release clause was about 10mil.€.

This is decent for Bayern. They get 3 german national players (Süle/CB/21, Rudy/DM+RB/27, Gnabry/AM/21) for a combined 30mil.€. Problem: this is more squad depth or in Süle and Gnabry´s case it´s a move for the future. But it is a) not a big name signing, b) it doesn´t really improve the squad on top of the iceberg and c) everybody was looking for Alexis Sanchez and then comes Serge Gnabry, that´s some kind of disappointing move.
Let´s see if they will sign another big player this summer or go with their roster. Considering their disappointing season (in their terms) and the cheap and smart moves they already made, you have to expect another move. Which position - i don´t know (not much there to improve while not blocking some new incoming guys in DM/AM).

The only guess I could come up with would be to sell Douglas Costa and buy Alexis Sanchez, but for the moment he´s rumored to join City...we´ll see..

Vinho your opinion on Lindelof's year?
I thought he was good, despite having to play to the left of Luisao. When Luisao was out in 2016, he lined up on the right with Jardel which is his preferred side. He was probably the team's fourth best player, but the other three (Semedo, Ederson, and Pizzi) had real standout seasons. He never showed that he could take free kicks until he scored a screamer vs Sporting.

Tolisso moves from Lyon to Bayern.
22yo, costs about 41mil.€, most expensive Bundesliga transfer ever (will be overtaken by Renato Sanches, if he hits some bonus clauses), signs 5year contract til 22, probably takes the DM role which was left open by Alonso´s retiring.

For sure, I just feel like every time I see or hear about some upcoming star- French. Going back to Greizmann or Pogba or even a Kanté it's crazy, but guys that have recently popped up on my radar (Dembélé, Mendy, Mbappé, Zouma)- I mean fuck. The mention of Tolisso and I look him up...woof.

Douglas (not Diego [emoji3][emoji3]) Costa to juventus. Seems close to done. Bayern asking for $44m and Juv offering $31 but costa supposedly agreed to go

I've seen rumors that Real Madrid has shifted its focus from DeGea to Donnarumma, and is planning to make GD their #1 as soon as the 2018-2019 season. That would explain GD's reluctance to sign an extension, despite GD's recent "I love Milan and will buy a house here!" statements.

I knew about his Raiola representation, but for a kid who not even a year ago professed his love of the club and desire to wear the captain's armband to go Full Delph is... not what I'd expect

He's 17 being rep'd by the biggest, shadiest agent on earth and getting flirted with by Madrid. We can forgive his indiscretions here.

Raiola and everyone else knows two things: the super clubs will pay a steep premium for domestic superstars and just a hint of Madrid drives offers way up. Now Madrid might only be making eyes at Donnarumma to get leverage in the Morata-De Gea-ManU shenanigans, but it's Raiola's god sworn duty to make the very most out of it.

Stories coming out now that Donnarumma and his parents negotiated for years with Inter, and ended up signing suddenly with AC Milan within 24 hours after verbally accepting a deal.

It is truly silly season

edit: now DiMarzio reporting that Conte could resign due to Chelsea's reluctance to splash cash (presumably on Lukaku). And yet, it isn't even July

The Guardian has a story about CR7 demanding a move out of Spain because of the tax fraud charges. PSG? ManU? China?

If he really wants the money, it'll be China. What - 200 million? 250? He'd likely score 2 goals a game or more, and probably murder at least one teammate with a death stare per game. Just from a GIF standpoint, I am very excited by this possibility.

The most likely scenario is a new contract.

Over the past 24 hours we've had Gigi Donnarumma saying he won't sign, STRONG rumors of Conte wanting to quit Chelsea, and Ronaldo wanting to leave Real.

Crazy.

He's not going to China.

From what A Bola is reporting, Ronaldo is pissed over the tax issue and Real's response to it. If ManU was serious about bringing him back, I'd send their best club reps to Russia and force a meeting with him.

Is A Bola reliable? The BBC has reported it now as well as the Times. They are usually pretty good.

Again though, they're saying he "wants" to leave not that he "will" leave.

In the end I'd say 90 percent chance its a new contract.

They're hacks, and so is Marca. But when Marca confirms A Bola, that tells me that both are getting this from Mendes. They're both not going to make up a story this big.

I don't think this is about a new contract. He got one in November. I do believe that Ronaldo is angry over the tax issue and Real Madrid's lack of support. It's pretty clear that RM had been passively distancing themselves from him recently. Ronaldo isn't stupid and knows politics as much as production play on whether a player leaves RM.

I really believe ManU should make a play on Ronaldo. Even just from a power point of view. Real doesn't lose players it doesn't want to and loves to unsettle other clubs with bids. Even though Ronaldo is 32, they did not go into this offeseason looking to move from him. ManU is printing money right now. They can make a real stab at a deal with no complications to their bottom line. This is a chance to hurt a global rival and add the premier player from a marketing POV who also scores a fuckton of goals.

As a Ronaldo fan, I'd prefer he stayed at Real. He's become better since signing there. In Spain, they don't have regular conversations about whether his antics are an insult to the sports gods. Instead the focus is debating him vs Messi and Real vs Barca.

Is it safe to post? Is vinho done?

j/k.

Realistically what would he go for? Its fun to dream. I say around 80 million euros factoring in age. If its to United its much more.

Haha. I love transfer speculation like this. Too bad for me I'll be in a meeting for the rest of the day starting at 11. I think if Ronaldo goes he rebreaks the transfer record. The club who signs him immediately starts calling up current and potential sponsors about future deals.

It could be just PR from Ronaldo's camp. He is so outraged by the injustice of this baseless tax witch hunt that he'd be willing to leave Spain entirely!!!

Very Trumpian.

Ronaldo's future is sort of like the irresistible force versus the immovable object. On the one hand, he is one of the greatest players of all time and famously dedicated to his physical condition. On the other hand, he has played an ungodly number of minutes of first team football when you consider club plus internationals (about 68500) in his career. That is more than Totti, more than Ibra, more than Raul had when he left Madrid, almost as much as Xavi or Giggs (both of whom he'll pass next year). He is entering totally uncharted territory in this respect.

Not a big name, by any means, but one near and dear to my heart:

Hirving "Chucky" Lozano signs with PSV

Can't find any transfer details yet but the contract is for six years. He had been rumored to be going to Manchester City but we all know how that goes this time of year.

CR7 yelling "I am above the law!" while squirting some hair product in his hand and spreading it into his sculpted coiffure is a striking visual image. I can totally see him being pissed at Spain for not being grateful for what he's done for Spain. And for being 2nd in the tax suit parade; he probably would have been a little more OK with it had he been charged before Messi.

Wherever he goes - and I think he's going somewhere, partly because of the tax thing, but partly because he's sorta bored with Real Madrid after achieving everything there - he's gonna be a massive economic boom. That's why I think China over Paris and London. First, in China his minutes played and impending decline don't matter at all. He will remain the best player in the Chinese League by a far margin for another half decade or more. Even if he can no longer run more than 5 feet in any direction; he'll still be THE MAN there for a long, long time. He has two or three years left at the top level anywhere else. And he wants the long, graceful decline over the abrupt "it's over" of Raul or Fat Ronaldo.

Mendes knows the real money is now in China. 350 million as a fee, with him making 75 or more a season would not surprise me. And it might even pay for itself with the potential marketing and TV business that'll open up as a result.

Trouble brewing considering RB Leipzig´s Forsberg, kicker is reporting.
link says smth like:
-Emil was asked about big clubs (namely Milan) and he said they are a huge club, which is going big again. asked about his future, he said "i had a fantastic time in Leipzig, my agent takes care of the rest."
-Leipzig´s response: "We already said, we don´t want to sell any important players that we plan on keeping. And with the CL, we have a nice platform for out best players to perform in new levels." --> "We can also send a copy of Emil´s contract to his agent in a second, if he forgot how long it is running." (-->2022! it is)
-Agent Cetinkaya: "I´ve never seen such an arrogant behaviour. Of course I know Emil´s contract. They have to live with destroying Emil´s dreams."

A lot of he-said-she-said, but in the end, I doubt Leipzig will let him or Keita leave, as they need to improve their squad and have the money to do so. If those guys have release clauses, it´s another thing.

Edit: And PSG is said to be interested in Dortmund´s Rafa Guerreiro, who did not break any bones in the Confed Cup, like early reports suggested.

Schnerres do you think Bayern will give up on Renato Sanches so quickly? I'm reading articles that he's available.

United are rumored to have bid for Fabinho. The fee seems high but maybe I just have to get used to the fact that any promising player will now go for over 30 - 40 million euros.

I haven't seen much of Monaco besides the Champions League games last year but Fabinho would seem like a great pick up for this United squad. For one, he could play right back in a pinch. Two, and more importantly, he's a true holding midfielder that will shield the defense and allow Pogba to enjoy more of a free role. A midfield trio of Fabinho, Pogba, and Herrera would be very good.

I´m not sure, but usually if they want to keep players (think Lewandowski right now) and others are interested, they tell them to stay away. There´s also rumors about Renato Sanches in the german press and there isn´t the classic denial from Bayern. I think for the right price, they let him go. They didn´t pay all of the add-on bonuses for him, yet, so it´s not like they would lose money (it is rumored to be 35mil.€ + 5mil.€ for each season in which he is in the World11 + 5mil.€ for each season in which he plays in 25 matches, but not known if this is for league matches or every match --> he played in 25 competitive matches, but only in 17 league matches last season).

They are losing Lahm and it is said that Kimmich is planned as his successor as RB for now.
They are losing Xabi Alonso and adding Tolisso. Plus you have Rudy as depth for DM (and RB) coming in, who is no big name, but again playing nice for Germany. If you sub just player-by-player, there is again not much space for Sanches in Bayerns midfield, if he doesn´t take a big step forward and makes less mistakes. But they are also saying things like they want to trust the young players (Kimmich, Süle), so that could also include Sanches. And they don´t sell him just to have him gone. If they like him or the money isn´t right, they would just loan him out for a year (think young Lahm, young Kroos, young Alaba, were all loaned out with huge success) and get him playing time elsewhere.

As they aren´t saying a definite thing (STAY AWAY, UNITED!), I would guess they don´t love him for the future or they plan another transfer with dominos to drop.

Hakan Calhanoglu, 23, moves from Bayer Leverkusen to AC Milan.
Transfer sum is between 20 and 30mil.€.

The player is a great midfielder, if he is on a good run of form. He hits freekicks as good as anyone. The problem with this guy: he is insane. He talks like he´s a shy and smart guy. I don´t know if he is just insane or egocentric times 100. But if he wants to be gone, he´ll be gone, no matter what.
He signed a new contract at Hamburg a few (2 or 3?) seasons ago in the winter break. Then he wanted to join Bayer Leverkusen only half a season later, to play CL with them. The solution? He refuses to play for Hamburg. He didn´t start summer training camp with them, as he officially said through the press, that he wants to leave. So how can he not train with them? Go to any doctor and get a medical excuse that he was mentally unable to play through the pressure.
Then he got transferred to Leverkusen and before the medical paper from the doctor (to stay away from footie until a specifit date) ends, he starts training with Leverkusen. "It was such a relief". That guy is an asshole and just unlikable. But he has a gifted right foot.

-Donnarumma signs new deal: 5years(2022), 6mil.€/year, release clause: 100mil.€
-Matthias Ginter(23) moves from Dortmund to Gladbach on a 17mil.€ transfer fee. Had a contract until 2019, joined Dortmund in summer of 2014 for 10mil.€ and signs a contract until 2021.
-The shared all-time Bundesliga leader in send-offs(8), Luiz Gustavo(29) wants to get sent off in the Ligue1: He leaves Wolfsburg to join Olympique Marseille for 8mil.€.

Rüdiger(24) signs with Chelsea.
Transfer sum is 35-40mil.€, depending on add-on bonus. Contract until 2022.
He played very well against Chile in the Confed Final. Looking like another solid signing by the Blues FML.

Also, with Lukaku to MANU official, I also expect to get Morata from RM for less than 100M. I'm guessing they sew this up at 80M (E).

James Rodriguez to Bayern on a 2 year loan

Edit: sounds like an option to buy at the end of the loan
Wow. I didnt imagine Real would send him to a side they're likely to face in the later stages of the Champions League.

The Guardian confirms the option to buy, but no amount given. Also suggest Douglas Costa will be shipped to Juventus...further strengthening another Champuons League aspirant.

At first glance, I didn't think this transfer made much sense. But, if Bayern is getting ready to move on from the Robben/Ribery era (which they should), this is an astute pickup. Add in the Douglas Costa sale and adding another high end offensive weapon was a must. Bayern do really smart business led by Rumenigge (I believe). Running circles around Barca management at the moment, but then again, so is every other major club.

Usually players on loan cannot play against the club loaning them out. I wonder if there's an contingency for that here.

I know that's the case with season-long loans - is it also true with multiple year "loans" in which there is an obligation-to-buy clause (or even an option-to-buy)?

I assume that's up to negotiation. Kingsley Coman played against Juventus while on loan from them, so there is definitely precedent for that between the clubs. This is essentially a permanent transfer structured as loan, so I wouldn't anticipate any restrictions on that.

I believe that's an English rule more than anything else. For example, I believe in Germany players can play against their parent club.
This makes the most sense. I'm only familiar with it coming into play for Premier League or FA matches.

OK, NOW we are heating up! Dani Alves just spurned old friend Pep and signed with PSG for a big pay raise. MANC fans are freaking out over their transfer budget (didn't realize they had one, figured it was just spend spend spend). I assume Bosox covered it in the Atleti thread, but Vitolo is signed for Atleti but will play at Las Palmas until he can be registered in January. Chelsea just offered 70M for Aubemayang and Barca just offered 30M+ for Semedo. Morata still has to be on the move IMO, although it looks like the same may not be said for Alexis, which is astonishing considering where that situation was at the end of the EPL season.

So what's the story on Aubemayang? one would think he would be a pretty high demand player? Rumour had him going to China at one point.

Now it seems his agent is offering him around Europe.
