Jesus, guys must be taking a while on the green. Haven't seen his second shot, or an update on line in about 10 minutes.

Yeah he needs a top 15 or so with this guy pillar not being ahead of him (currently t15)
Piller's wife/sister (I can't remember) is a better golfer than he is. She was just on the Solheim Cup team. I think she might be top 20 or so in the world.

Eric Axley is another guy that can come off the pace and blow by Rob with a top 3. He's the only guy in the top 5 right now, who isn't already in the top 25. Those are the guys that really hurt.

Uggh, Rob blows the second shot right. Gets into the bunker, but has no green to work with. Just put it on and take the two putt and run. Please.

Definitely concerned with Axley. Hoping 18 plays well for Rob and he has two days left to put together a big round like we have seen from him in the past six tournaments

Yikes, rough second. Green side short side bunker in 2.

DotB I can't imagine what you and those who know him are going through again. I first pumped the birdie and I'm like7 degrees removed.

And it's Piller's wife, they interviewed her earlier. Good looking woman.

How is he from the sand? Guess it's better than the rough at least. And looked like it was flirting with trees at first.

His playing partner is playing the 18th like I would, still not on in 4. Can't be helping....

Nice shot, safe.

Whew,

Definitely left 2-3 strokes on the course on the back 9, which would make the weekend easier, but heck even leaving at least 2 strokes on the course, he shot 4 under over the last 13 holes. He really needs a nice 65 tomorrow

Sorry guys, I had to go upstairs and make sure my wife was watching. Needless to say, fuck yeah.

Another two rounds of pain and suffering for all of us besides Rob. He's the only one that never really gets excited about any of this. He is such a damn good putter, and you have to think he has so much more experience playing with this kind of pressure than any of these other guys.

My wife thinks it's odd how the announcers are almost flat out rooting for him all the time. Rob has become really tight with a lot of folks from the Golf Channel (wouldn't be surprised to see him work there when all is said and done), and everyone from there, as well as a ton of the guys in the locker room really do pull for him.

Oh yeah, I think there's little to no almost about it. You could tell the one guy kind of catch himself and say something about obviously not rooting for anyone to fail

8-10 on golf channel both Sat and Sun.
Unfortunately, he'll have a pretty early tee time tomorrow, so he'll be finishing up when the coverage starts. Hopefully, he posts a score and gets himself into one of the later groups on Sunday though.

Par on #2, but he put his tee shot in the fairway bunker on the par 4, 475 yard 3rd. Going to be a tough par from there.

Well couple birdies, and now through 4 today at 2 under for the day. Now if he play the rest of the day like he played these yesterday and he'd have something going

I always get worried on these longish par 3's. The 5th is 211 yards. A bad tee shot brings bogey into play so quickly. Would love to see nothing but pars on the par 3's, and do the damage everywhere else.

I texted him last night and told him that I was predicting two of the best rounds of his life this weekend. He better not make a liar out of me.

Pars on 5 and 6. Missed the fairway on his tee shot and 2nd shot on the 623 yard par 5 7th. No idea where he is as far as the hole goes. Hopefully, he gets away with par or better. Never want to give one back on a par 5.

Hopefully he can steal the par, his 4th shot was listed as from the fairway.

And the bogey shows up. Damn. It's a long hole but should be safely on in 3, would love to see how bad his first and second shots were.

Lucas Glover's knee exploded or something during a backswing at the Northern Trust. He's down and getting attended to. I haven't seen anything like this before.

So I was walking out of the Equinox in Woodbury, on Long Island, at 9am this morning. Who is walking out in front of me? 24 year old Jordan Spieth.

I was taken aback, because it was just so out of place.(although the course is only a few miles from that gym) The door kind of slammed in my face as we were walking out because I was in shock after I saw him and he was like, "Oh man, my bad, I'm sorry." I recovered enough to say I was a big fan and wished him luck today. He said, "Thanks buddy." I shook his hand and he was off, in a Northern Trust SUV, driving himself, while I sat in my car, texting my friends.

Spieth must have been there for a massage or a pre round PT session. Anyway, it was really, really cool. He's a polite guy, that came across immediately.

Run of pars has him -2 through 15, -4 overall. 18 is a par 5. Be nice to get that and one other birdie headed into tomorrow.

And just a par on 18. I can already tell what's coming. He's going to have a great round tomorrow, and come up just short, finishing 26th, and miss by less than a thousand bucks.

Two of the co-leaders (Mitchell and McCarthy) are both within striking distance of Oppenheim on the money list. So, he'll need a good round AND both of them to stay out of the top 2 or 3, right?

Yup, he needs a lot of things to go right today, but none of it will matter if he doesn't post something like -5 or -6, and that's not looking likely right now.

Birdie on 6 to get back to even on the round. Absolutely has to make birdie on this par 5 7th, which has not been good to him this week. He needs to turn on the jets for these last 12 holes to have any chance.

DJ ties Spieth on 11. Spieth had a 5 shot lead after 5 today. Hit one in the water on 6 and made double, then bogeyed 9.

3 putt bogey on 8, after not making birdie on the par 5. Missed the fairway on 9 too. The dream looks like it has to wait until the playoffs again.
