Lewerke trying to become only the 2nd Michigan State QB to throw for 400 yards in a game. And by 400, I mean exactly 400. That's the record, set in 1999 by Bill Burke. Never would have guessed a team with that kind of history has never had a guy throw for 401 yards. Jesus, recruit a QB at some point.

Why would Ohio State use the timeout there? Wouldn't you rather get the ball back with like 2:45 and 2 timeouts, instead of 3:15 and 1 timeout?

May not have let them score, but they did it very quickly. Almost 2 minutes left for Penn State, with 3 timeouts left.

That was a huge 2 point conversion. Would have thought Urban would come up with a less predictable play call.

Missed field goal to lose for Penn State, or made field goal to win? I'm saying miss if it comes to that, maybe even a block.

PSU definitely has a great chance to get into FG range (tons of time and 3 timeouts). I won't count PSU out until the clock strikes all zeros (especially after they came back against Iowa).

Michigan State scores a td in 2nd overtime, Northwestern matches. Going to #3. Big Ten craziness right now.

That might be his best Heisman argument; OSU gifted them field position because they're terrified.

Not quite good enough for Nits. Their O-Line isn't deep enough or good enough and that was the big worry coming in.

The blocked punt was huge but OSU probably would have won anyway. They wore the Nits out in the fourth quarter, offense and defense.

No? When you're on offense you control the pace, so 30 seconds might get you three or four plays. Losing 30 seconds in one play when on offense is basically a worst case scenario, so you'd rather that extra time on the clock.

Oh, I think you gotta lay the blame on the Penn State defense in this one. I mean, they let JT Barrett catch fire and complete his last 16 passes. Just can't allow that. This was the #1 scoring defense in the nation coming in, and they got their asses handed to them in the 2nd half.

They got worn down in the second half. Just a fraction late rushing Barrett on a couple of key completions. We don't see how tired guys are on TV but it was a big part of this game.

Sure they did. It tends to happen when you can't stop the other team from getting first down after first down.

Super-impressive win by the Buckeyes, but there are certain programs that should never have a field/court storming no matter the circumstances - Ohio St football is one.

FTR, Barrett may be quietly putting his name into the Heisman race, he's now at 25 Touchdown passes and only 1 interception on the season. Except for the Oklahoma game, he's been basically perfect all season.
