Michigan and Penn State probably have the two tougher ranked-vs-unranked games, although San Diego State will likely drop out of the top 25 after they lose to Air Force. Washington vs. Colorado is usually a good game.

Looking forward to the Penn State game at Kinnick. My wife is a Hawkeye, and there is some history there with games vs. highly ranked PSU teams. Kinnick should be rocking. Think the Hawks have a shot there.

Based on the trajectory coming out of this past weekend's games, I would say that is certainly within the realm of the possible. Today's line has the Wolverines favored by 9.5

Rooting for an NC State upset in Tallahassee, which should help lower the price of Fl. State at Clemson tickets.
Ha rooting for the opposite - slim chance that Duke can remain undefeated heading into the FSU matchup in Durham in mid-October. Ha.

I'll be checking off a bucket list item and will be at the Syracuse/LSU game. Anyone ever been to a LSU game? I'd love to benefit from the wisdom/experiences/mistakes of others.

Bill Connolly on Podcast Ain't Played Nobody made an interesting point about this week. Five top ten teams play on the road in situations where they are 75% or more favored to win by S&P+. He claims that it is more probable that one of those teams will lose than all five win.

So...

Alabama (Vandy)
Michigan (Purdue)
Penn State (Iowa)
Washington (Colorado)
USC (Cal)

(Not sure why he left off OK/Baylor when that fits the criteria. Just Kidding. I know why he left off OK/Baylor)

Purdue seems like the obvious choice but as much as I like to make fun of the Cowboy's next head coach and their silly program, their defense looks legit and Purdue, as surprising as they have been, does not seem ready yet to make this kind of upset.

Vanderbilt is a solid, boring football team that does not have the offense to do anything to Alabama.
Penn State, Iowa? I don't know a ton about Iowa. Penn State is fun to watch.

That leaves us with the two Pac-10 games and that's where I think the upset comes from. USC should be ashamed of last week BUT Cal is not good enough and they (USC) have probably spent the entire week getting their ass chewed.

I pick Washington s the team to get upset. I think they might not be that great.

NC State was a sexy pre-season team that lost a lot of air with that opening South Carolina lost. This is a pretty important game for them, in my opinion. They are on the road against Florida State with FL ST. obviously missing their star QB. This is the kind of game that NC State needs to win to be taken seriously.

Personally, I think the program is always 1000% better in the fan's eyes and about 90% better in the media's eyes and they are a middling ACC team but I'm kind of into watching them prove me wrong.

Wake called timeout on 4th and 5 with Appy st on the Wake 27, 10 seconds left. Next play: offsides on Wake. First down.

Edit: Appy kicked an FG, Wake blocked it. What a dumb kick. 10 seconds is an eternity. Gotta try once to get a TD, or to get closer.

Think Winbush from ND might be concussed. Someone doubled down on his head as he got hit low. Surprised they didn't stop play. Threw a woozy incompletion and got sacked on the next two plays. Next series coming up. Hit made me cringe.

Keep an eye on Georgia. Their defense is first-rate. Crushing #17 Mississippi State 28-3 in the third.

Barkley puts Nits on his back and scores on a nifty run for a 15-7 lead. Good road test for the Lions, as expected.

McSorley fumbles again but one of his tackles recovers. He takes too much punishment running the ball as often as he does.

Iowa breaks long TD, two-pointer broken up. 15-13 with 10 minutes left. Great road test for the Nits. And you're right, Canderson. McSorley has not thrown the ball accurately this season, except against overmatched Ga. State.
