Congrats to the Heels for being the only ranked team playing today.

Also go Hokies. I want no part of Notre Dame.

Edit: ugh. bad vibes for tomorrow

Good ending to a tough day for the Carolina Family with the passing of Woody Durham.

Tomorrow's schedule

#4 Clemson v. #12 Boston College (2:30 pm)
#2 Duke v. #10 Notre Dame (7 pm)
#3 Miami v. #6 North Carolina (9:30 pm)

Really? It was a noon game and St Johns hit a million 3 pointers. Any team can beat any other team with stuff like that. How did UNC lose to Wofford?

True but at least Wofford is a winning team.

Also St John's only hit 8 threes against us. It wasn't some magical performance like when BC shot 15-26

UVa moves on with win over L’ville. Seemed like a trap game, good to get through. I’m thinking of going to Barclay’s tomorrow. I’d prefer to go Saturday, but planning on the Hoos to win something is such a strange concept.

Tomorrow will be more fun anyway with two games. Unless your Hoos lose the first game. Then you'll want to get the hell out of there.

They have the most quadrant one wins and the #1 SOS. Nine or ten losses don't mean shit, especially with by far the hardest league schedule.
Oh I agree. Speaks to their schedule for sure. I just wonder if any team with 9-10 losses has ever been a 2 seed.

Edit: 9 is the record. 2001 Kentucky and 2014 Kansas. UNC may break that.

My guess is if they don't win tonight, which is absolutely a possibility, they slip down to the 3 line, or at least it leaves the door open for a team like Auburn to take it. But making the ACCT semis, losing to a really good Duke team (most likely) and having 13 Q1 wins/#1 SOS would be hard to keep off the 2.

I guess going 2-1 on average every 3 games makes you a top 8 team in the country.

Start of Duke/ND was like an NBA game

Start of this game is like a middle school game

Don't know what they'll have in the tank for tomorrow night but nice to get some revenge for senior night.

Down to four

#1 Virginia v. #3 Clemson (7 pm)
#2 Duke v. #6 North Carolina (9:30 pm)

Grayson now at 1927 career points, exactly 150 short of Jon Scheyer for 10th all time in Duke history. Highly unlikely he gets there unless Duke goes to the Final Four.

Not a Grayson fan, but man, I'd like to see Scheyer knocked off a top-10 list of any sort. Just not this way

Offensively, Notre Dame and Duke can resemble NBA teams with their efficiency, but how many NBA teams play a 1-2-2 zone press?

In all seriousness, Duke looked very impressive last night and, as a neutral, I really want to see a rematch with Virginia on Saturday night. I have never been completely sold on the 2-3 zone, but Duke's version seems a lot more aggressive than Syracuse's. Looking at the shot chart, most of Notre Dame's three-point attempts were from well beyond the arc.

Yeah Duke did a great job defending the 3. Gave up a bunch of fairly easy mid range 2s, but that seemed to be the game plan. And in fairness Bonzie is one of the only guys in the country who can be that effective in the mid range game. He played pretty well.

I just realized (again) that I hate Grayson Allen with the white hot fire of a thousand suns and I really pray he doesn't end up on the Celts next year.

Are you going tonight? Sorry you won't get your dream matchup and will instead have to settle for Duke-Carolina
Went skiing instead. Listened to the game on the ride back, which made for a very pleasant few hours. Gotta see if I can sneak away tomorrow night, or maybe take a kid and count it as family time. Kind of want the rematch with Duke. Even though I’d feel overwhelmingly pessimistic, would be very cool to see two #1 seeds go toe to toe right before the tournament.
