La Mancha.
D'Qwell Jackson suspended 4 games for cheating by way of PEDs. DFG karma train rolls on.
I don't know about that. Didn't D'Q state openly that the ball was completely normal? I.e., did nothing to perpetuate the lie, and actually did something to combat it?

Doesn't matter. He saw the video and picked up the phone to hear "seven days." It may have been meant for another but what's done is done.

Is that banner still up? I'd hope they'd have taken it down by now.

The patriots would never hang a banner for a non Super Bowl wi......fuck.

I wish the 16-0 banner was still up. It's an amazing accomplishment and the players on that team deserve to be recognized for it.

Being an "AFC Finalist" is exactly the same, though, you're right.

You know, I couldn't be happier about the turn of events in Indy.

Colts miss the playoffs and kind of suck, but not so much as to get good picks. Luck again shows no signs that he's anything but a less-talented Ben Roethlisberger. Irsay does his "This is fine" impression and endorses the continued tenure of Grigson and Pagano.

The contrast between the hype for Luck - remember, outside of New England he was pretty universally regarded as second only to Rodgers going into last year - and the results (not being able to win a weak division this year, including two losses to the barely-quaterbacked-at-all Texans) is undeniable at this point. How much is on him versus Pagano versus Grigson is certainly worthy of debate.

But however one slices it the disappearing relevance of this franchise since they beat Denver in the 2014 playoffs is fun to witness.

Now if the Steelers can eliminate the rat birds today, that'll be 0-for-4 as far as playoff appearances for BAL and IND since Waterflate.

“@JasonColeBR: FWIW: GM of one team tells me in pretty definite terms that #Colts are NOT making any changes.”

And this is why the colts will always be the colts.

I caught the end of their game on Red Zone and I get that it was exciting but they celebrated like they won the super bowl. It was really strange

That was weird. The team was going crazy, like it meant something, such as a Super Bowl victory or a dramatic playoff berth. But it meant nothing. The curse of deflategate continues!

I find that people misjudge the value of head coaching jobs at both ends of the spectrum.

It is true there are only 32 of them. So I'm lol at the self interested Washington fans who are pissed to lose McVay and insist he should have waited for a "better spot" at the age of 30. You mean like Kyle Shanahan, who has been deemed ready for some time but may lose out again if he doesn't get the SF gig, which could go to one of the NE coordinators or someone else?

On the other hand, for former accomplished coaches with choices, teams and many others really underestimate being on a national broadcast weekly and paid $5 million plus per year for this effort. If it's not the best gig in America, it's damn close. So Cowher was forever jumping back into coaching, especially for that fantastic Giants job. Now I guess it's Gruden's turn. Both are smart guys and would not go near Indianapolis on a dare.

Cowher was on Richard Deitsch's podcast a few months ago and basically said exactly that. He says he loves that he is still around the game, he still has his adrenaline flowing, and he still gets to study and talk football - but now he has his life back. He seemed extraordinarily content to do things with his kids and grandkids, have time off in the summer, and getting to enjoy life a bit. I don't see him going back to coaching at all, the current gig is too nice.

Lololololol

Really though, I know Irsay has more knowledge of PM's business acumen but what has PM done other than buy a bunch of Papa Johns?
To be fair, PM's made over 300 million in contracts and endorsements. The Papa John's thing is pretty similar to Elway's chain of car dealerships.

Article from yesterday's Indy Star:

http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2017/01/15/insider-does-peyton-manning-want-run-team/96614174/

I have to say I'd be a little surprised if Manning took over this year, despite the recent (incessant?) ballwashing from Polian. I actually think Manning is smart enough to see the impact an impulsive owner like Irsay is having on the stability of the product and would want to maintain a little more separation from his playing days before taking over this mess.

Meanwhile, there are unconfirmed murmurs that Irsay is working on a Pagano buyout (FAKE NEWS?!?!). If a buyout occurs, then either Manning is coming or the Colts will be looking at hiring a lame duck head coach until Manning decides he is ready. Irsay wants "big names", but what decent head coach would take a job under those circumstances if Manning can't be talked into it beginning in 2017?

This is especially true because -- whatever one thinks of "The Rooneys" -- there can't be many coaching gigs that are as solid in terms of off the field stuff like stability and reliability as Pittsburgh.
