Following up on @kelpapa 's question, what kind of year has Talib had? I haven't seen much Broncos football this year but it at least seems as if he's been very good.
To my eyes, he's still pretty good when he's on the field and not getting stupid penalties. He missed three games with a back injury this year. He also tried to fight the entire Titans team after Douglas' cheap shot on Harris last week.

J Man, you think Talib is going to be on the roster next year without a restructure? He's got a $12m cap hit, and $2m in dead money if he's cut. He'll be 31. I don't see him playing for that with all the issues he brings both on and off the field.

i wouild cut him but he is the key to why our pass def is so good with him we are no wrose than 5 on def without him we fail about 7 spots

fair point but let say Houston misses the playoffs and O'Brien job is on the line and rick smith well they would want to win now now denver already has 3 3rd round picks Tailb for let say pick 19 would be a fair trade denver needs 2 OL starters in the 17 draft

IF Denver goes 8-8 i allmost would think about offering Von Miller for a whole 17 draft and a 18 19 1st i wouild hate to do it but without thinks to get a young star QB i know 17 is a weak QB Class but the key is to get a david carr type even if u have to wait untill 2020

i wouild offer von miller to any team but KC OAK yes NE wouild be in play but for u u wouild have to give up 2 whole drafts and a 1 in 19 and SD/LA Wouild have to gave up 3 whole drafts

Is Osweiler a great pick because of the compensatory 4 or 5 he is going to get you this year?

I think Elway's drafting talent can be summarized by the fact that he has picked a ton of very good defensive players and exactly one really good offensive player in Paradis. You could make that number two if I am wrong on Siemian, which, fairly, I might be, since he has exceeded my expectations this year.

As a 7th round pick, if Siemian got injured and never threw a ball again I still think he already exceeded all projections and expectations of value.

J Man...great summary but minor area of disagreement..maybe it is just semantics but I don't call a 6th or 7th..round pick a bust..if a pick that late in the draft makes it then great..if not then oh well..those late rounds are more crapshoots..

Gary Kubiak just said safety T.J. Ward is in the concussion protocol. He said Ward didn't feel well after the game and is being evaluated this week.

Well, if we're looking at it from a utilitarian standpoint, less TJ Ward likely means less concussions overall. So we can take joy in that.
+1. Was thinking the exact same thing. I wonder if this has any chance of changing the way he goes about his business. If it doesn't, then he'll have established a new low.

I haven't posted in this thread in ages as I've had a hard time figuring out how good I think Denver really is this year.

I've been pessimistic and then swung back to optimistic almost on a weekly basis. The defense remains top notch (although significantly worse against RBs this year than last) and that has made it hard to predict how much the D can cover up a shaky offense.

As of the loss today, though, I am now pretty confident that Denver's dogshit O-Line is going to keep them out of the playoffs (or if they squeak in it will keep them from going far). All the offensive issues rise from the shit line play. No running game, constant pressure on the QB, tons and tons of 3-and-outs... all on the line.

CJ Anderson might be getting a bit more success if he was healthy, but probably not enough to matter.

I have liked what I see from Siemian as far as growth goes. I think he will likely go into next season as the starter (Lynch has not looked like a dude ready to grab the starter role) and if the OL can be retooled, I think Siemian might be an above-average QB who could give the O enough to win a lot of games.

The end of this season will be against the best 3 AFC teams. The Broncos may lose out. Rebuilding the offense this season didn't work well enough. They would probably be 4-9 or so were it not for the Defense. Not Denver's year, but thank god for SB50.
You may remember that we had a discussion early in last years' thread about the Oline. My take then was that it was their Achilles heel and would keep them from winning a championship m. Obviously, I was wrong about the latter since they overcame it, but it was definitely the weakest link last year and is even worse this year.

At this point, while Elway had done a terrific job overall as gm, I think it's fair to question his ability to put together a quality oline. He either can't identify talent at the position or doesn't make it enough of a priority (my opinion last year and now) or a combination of both.

I just hope he's able to remember enough about his playing days to tell his grandkids about all the players he cheapshotted.

(It's cool when I make these kind of jokes )

no because he went 5-2 in 15 when if he even goes 4-3 denver does not win SB 50

Is this good or bad for the Raiders on Sunday?

Also, are the issues going on in that locker room right now just a result of hard to control egos on the defensive side like Ward and Talib or is there a bigger issue with the players feeling like the work for Elway less than the coach?

How about a coach who has already once taken over a pre-built team with non top-level QB and a great defense and won a Super Bowl? The best part would be not having him on MNF anymore.

I am currently watching the NFLN rundown of the top games of the year. Right now is KC at Denver from week 12. If Fowler goes down on the 5 yard line instead of scoring with 3 minutes to go the entire season changes.

As soon as I go there it's Seattle picking off Brady. Happy New Year anyway.

Grunden is the Trump of MNF. Every person/thing whom he is talking about at the moment is the absolute best.
I feel like this is Collinsworth. Every play is accompanied with how he had a conversation with that player the night before and how great it was to talk to him and here's an anecdote that may or may not relate to what we're talking about but everything is great. Man talks for 2/3 of the game..has never met a pause in conversation that he liked.

You have a point. In fact, perhaps I was conflating the two of them when I made my last post. I'm going to amend my position on the topic to say that they are both awful.

Anyway, I probably shouldn't hijack any more than I already have.

Interesting. Would they go outside or promote Dennison? If they went outside, I assume they'd be the preferred job for everyone except McDaniels.
my list is 3 deep

1 Pete Carmichael NO is number 1 in Off in 16 i love new Orleans playbook Denver needs a overhaul on off

2 Vance Joseph if not for Ciny maantory keep everyone under contact he wouild had been denver D Cord in 15

3 Teryl Austin Same Def Syile as Philliaps

and for me Rex Ryan i tryed this idea on MHR and most everyone there hates him

what happhed was the Falcons and Raiders finger our Def out

by just throwing to RB TE and running 60% of the time + lots of Def INJ with marshall ward V Walker in preseason our best run stopper

but yeah we beat KC at home then we beat Tenn then we lose to u and kc then we win tomm

so in a way that 1 play made us 8-8 instead of 11-5

This would make it a weird fit for sure, and Chucky does seem to care about how much Raidernation loves him , but there is no fucking way Gruden would work for John Elway.

And so much for the Raiders getting a Broncos team with nothing to play for today.

Kubiak makes it official after the game. First name being tossed about is Vance Joseph. I saw that Denver interviewed him the last time the position was open. Seems like they would want to get an offensive HC and keep Phillips and let him run the defense, no?

Why break down and rebuild the entire coaching staff if you can keep the most successful part of your staff in tact?
