Dortmund winning the cup sends Freiburg to the Europa League. I know their fans sing, "We go down, we go up, we go to the UEFA Cup." But to do that in consecutive years is quite something.

10mins before the end (it was 0-2 and they needed a 3-2 at that point) they started throwing seats and other metal stuff at the field. Match was stopped for 15minutes, while players remained on the field and former player/now coach of 1860 II spoke/screamed at these asses. Nothing changed. Game re-started and whenever the ball was in the opposing box (in front of Munich´s fans) they threw some stuff. You had to hope that the ref stopped the match, but he clearly wanted to finish the "missed" time. Objects flying close to players, really dangerous. Whenever the ball was in 1860s half, the keeper of Regensburg was safe.

If I´m Bayern (and paid most of the arena, although it was agreed as more of a split-deal between both clubs) and saw that, I´ll show them the door forever.

1860 have been relegated at the first team, reserve team, U19, U17, and apparently U16 levels this year. Ouch.

In fairness their reserve team finished 2nd but they've been sent down because reserve teams have to be at least two levels lower than the first in Germany.

Ian Ayre also reportedly resigned after less than two months on the job.

Wonder how long the motorcycle ride was from Liverpool...

This is shaping up to be a depressing end to one of the oldest clubs in Germany. Things have been bad with the club's finances for a long time, but this is so much worse than you could imagine. 20 years ago, they were in the Champions League qualifying round. Even in the bad days, we had some decent players come through, including Daniel Bierofka and America's Own Bobby Wood. Now, they're probably on the way to oblivion, and if I'm going to continue to support a Munich team, I'm all but forced to go with Bayern.

On the plus side, if they do come back to one of the Regionalligas, they're almost certainly out of the Allianz and back to Grünwalderstraße, their spiritual home.

Turns out not too long to bail on a horrible shareholders situation. From the Echo: 1860's board is fucked.

If Ayre's depiction of the board is accurate, why are they there behind Ismaik?

Google Translate's representation of Ismaik's partners in the club says they're really not. The club's done.

What a mess, the 1860 situation is an embarrassment. The only ones to (potentially) gain from this is SC Paderborn, the club that I follow. They have had the most precipitous fall that I can think of: in their only Bundesliga season 2014-15) they were in 1st place after the 4th week but ended the season going back to the 2nd league. Then relegation to the 3rd league after 15-16 and relegation to the regional leagues after this past season. Paderborn has applied to stay in the 3rd based on 1860 not coming in to the league.

I may start a thread once it's confirmed that 1860 is dead, rather than parking in the Regionalliga Bayern for the next few years, but this has been a long time coming. The Wildmoser family was an underhanded group, and no one has wanted much to do with the club since. Now Ismaik is railing against a well-known DFB rule and holding the club hostage over it. There's a sentiment within the club's fan base that Ismaik should sell and let the club rot in the Regionalliga for a while to get back to its natural state. Instead, we have Ismaik, through HAM, declaring war with the club's board (the two entities have duelling press releases on the club webpage, I shit you not), and the supporters eat the business end of the shotgun blast because they don't have billions of Euros on the line.

Last one for today, but this is a class gesture by @Schnerres' FC Kaiserslautern:

The translation: Friends and colleagues at 1860 Munich: keep your head high, you'll be back. You're like us, INDESTRUCTIBLE! '60 and 1.FCK: Friends Forever.

-Marcus Weinzierl is out at Schalke. He was there for one season. Schalke paid about 4mil.€ to get him from Augsburg and he has two more years, so that was a very expensive season. He joked at the start of the season, that he couldn´t find a flat, because the owners wanted a long-time tenant. Ouch.
New Schalke coach is Domenico Tedesco(31), who comes over from Aue. He was there for only half a season, but saved them from relegation in the 2.Bundesliga. He was the best (grade 1,0) in last years DFB coach class and moved from VfB Stuttgart´s youth stable to Aue and had an agreement in his contract that he can leave (i don´t know if there´s money involved) for 2nd and 1st league teams. They played superb after he joined them and earned a lot of points.

-Heiko Herrlich, former Dortmund, Leverkusen, Gladbach player, who coached Jahn Regensburg from 3.Bundesliga to 2.Bundesliga through the relegation matches vs. 1860 will move to Bayer Leverkusen.

Not the Bundesliga, but I´ll put it here:

In the German Regionalliga, there were 6 teams relegated. The 14(out of 19) placed team, FK Pirmasens was also relegated. The other troubling part is that the two first teams are just playing promotion matches, but there´s no garantee that any team is getting up. They are facing teams from other leagues. Two years in a row, no team went up from that league.

So, now comes the DFB and does this:
"Dear clubs, we have 19 teams. Instead of letting FK Pirmasens in the league as the 20th team (like seen before), they have to go down. But, you can play with 19 teams. The 19th team, which is free of a match each matchday, can earn 15.000 € each week by playing a chinese U20 team. Good luck." This team is basically participating in the Regionalliga as the 20th team and the DFB is spending 15.000€ per match for their opponent.
Now, one of the top teams, Waldhof Mannheim (twice lost in promotion matches in last two years, OUCH), came out and said: we aren´t participating in this (crap). We do not want to sell the soul of football for 30.000€. We are offering a friendly to FK Pirmasens in our off-week. We don´t play the chinese U20 selection.

This is nice business.
