Huge break there,  obviously he needed the set, after giving it away earlier.

Who cares? Let them root for whoever they want to. Roger is easy to get behind right now, it's not like they have anything against Novak.

Agreed. Plus this could legitimately be Fed's last chance at the Open (or any major) and he hasn't been in an Open final since 2009. It's not a surprise the crowd is behind him. And the crowd is probably drunk too because they have been there since 3pm.

Well I think it's pretty classless to boo when Roger loses a point, so fuck those fans.

Oh boo hoo. He's earned the support for an entire career of being a class act, playing the game the right way, not enticing the crowd and getting bitchy and emotional at every little thing that goes wrong. Your boy could learn a thing or 2 from him and maybe he'd have more support.

Federer was dragging Novak all over the court and staying back. He's got to follow some of those in and and try to end those points. With Djokovich's insane court coverage Fed is gonna lose more long rally's than not.

Normal humans don't even get to face 23 break points, let alone fend off 19 of them.

Edit: it's paradoxical, but if Djokovic played worse, he would have faced fewer break points, because Fed would have converted them earlier. It's kind of like a football team going 3/15 on 3rd down, but 6/7 on 4th down. 3rd down conversions % doesn't matter when you do that well on 4th

Too many giveaway points for Roger.    I actually like Djoker, but it still hurts.

4-23 on break point chances. This match was very winnable for him unlike the Wimbledon final. He really did piss away this one. Hope this isn't the last we see of him in a major final.

That's been Roger's biggest problem in his older years. For a while it was mostly against Nadal, and it was because Roger couldn't handle the big kick serve up high to his backhand on in the AD court. No it is an odd combination of going to conservative at times, and then deciding he has gotten too conservative and making an inexplicable overly aggressive decision

Hate Novak so much
Why? He's great player, already among the all time greats really, and is a stubborn competitor. He's a bit emotive sometimes on the court but doesn't seem to be a prick and is gracious in victory. What is it you have a problem with?

That crowd was pretty bush league for a tennis match, catcalling during Djokovic's service tosses was ridiculous and cheering first serve misses just isn't really done. It was like a Davis Cup match filled with pink hat Federer fans, I was surprised the umpire didn't do even more to stop it.

This was said mostly because I had had several beers and was rooting pretty hard for Federer. I absolutely respect Djokovic's game much the same way I do Rafa's (who I've probably said similar not nice things about in the past).

Suck it Fed and front running fans

Fed is 34 years old and fending off father time. Djokovic is 28 and in his prime. Seems like the true front-running fans would have been rooting for Djokovic.

Not always a huge fan of Jon Wertheim (he is OK), but nice to see him publicly calling it like he saw it with the Serena/Vinci match today:

"• I don’t want to shortchange Vinci, but this match was really about Serena having the equivalent of a panic attack on the court. I watched the replay of the match on Sunday and was struck by Serena’s sluggish movement. She looked nothing like the player who had beaten Madison Keys just a few days earlier. These things happen. Even the most accomplished players are not immune to nerves (especially as they get on in year, especially as the burden of history is thrust on them.) But—and I feel lousy saying this—this was much more about Serena’s paralysis than Vinci’s superior play."
