Muhammad Wilkerson won't sit ouf of minicamp in an effort to get a new deal, but his defensive line teammate, Sheldon Richardson, is putting on a heck of a PR campaign on his behalf.

"He's worth that penny," Richardson told the New York Daily News. "And you know what penny I'm talking about. ... We don't just want J.J. Watt money. We want it all. We want (Ndamukong) Suh money. Hopefully everybody wants that type of bread in this league."

Suh famously signed a gargantuan six-year, $114 million contract with nearly $60 million guaranteed.

Richardson himself enters his third season on a devastating New York Jets defensive line and will need to get paid down the line as well. At the moment, however, he's focused on stomping for his teammate, comparing him to other D-tackles who got P-A-I-D.
"Why wouldn't he?" Richardson said. "If Gerald McCoy can get $100 million, I'm pretty sure my guy Mo Wilkerson can get $100 million."

This should end well.

Sheldon Richardson statement via the Jets: “I apologize for letting down my family, teammates, this organization and the fans. However, words aren't enough. This is something that can only be addressed by how I handle myself from this point on. I don't want this to take away from what the team is trying to accomplish. While I won't be there at the start of the regular season, I will do whatever I can to support my teammates until I'm able to return to the field.”

Sorry, can't help myself... Rex ought to be suspended too, it is more probable than not that he was generally aware of this.

So apparently Jets Sideline Tripper Sal Alosi, who nearly got his head bashed in by Puff Daddy, once got into a fight with Revis:

TMZ Sports has obtained a letter from a female chiropractor sent to Jets brass in 2010 ... raising serious concerns about strength and conditioning coach Alosi. According to the chiropractor, Alosi got into a "fistfight" with Pro Bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis. The doctor added Alosi has a pattern of abusive behavior and the Jets needed to get him under control.

It's gotta be so much better to watch your team win the SB than it is to have your team absolutely fucking suck and hire a plane to razz the SB winning team.  But I wouldn't know for sure.

I mean seriously, how awful must it be to be a Jets fan?  It's got to be unimaginably terrible.

Pats fans hire plane to fly over every NFL city and NFL team training camp with banner saying "Losers Look Up."

You're right, I should lighten up.  That is funny.

Holy crap he was ordered of his car at gunpoint as he was reaching down for a fully loaded semi-automatic.  What if the officer didn't end up noticing him reaching for something??!!!  This guy is unbelievable.  However, this will get buried in the news cycle much quicker than somebody possibly deflating footballs.

Wow - just wow. What will tomorrow's airplane banner read - "Like the Red Baron, I'm high, flying and armed! - Love Shel"

That's got to be worth a game, maybe two...

This doesn't jeopardize the integrity of the game. Dear God though, this guy shouldn't play football this year.

If the Jets had any good judgment whatsoever they would cut him immediately... so I expect a contact extension announcement by COB tomorrow

What detail if that story is the craziest? 143 mph while high? Doing that with a kid in the car? Or reaching for his iron once cornered by the cops?
My guess is that he was hiding the gun under the seat, not reaching for it to use it.

Also, still incredibly stupid.  If you are going to race cars, get the kid out first, get the gun out second.

If he fails the inevitable drug rest, does he get 8 or 16 games under the drug policy? The gun and the kid and the DUI are icing on the cake.

Can't wait.

At some point these players need to get a clue, this isn't the NFL of the 80's, 90's or even 00's when social media hadn't taken over the world.  Back then they could screw up and either pay people off or have people handle it, now everyone has a cell phone one rumor gets traction and careers can be over in the blink of an eye.

12 days after his 4 game suspension?  What an absolute moron, the Jets should cut him and show the fan base this can't be tolerated.

The NFL's real problems just aren't going away, it seems to be spinning out of control.  Good luck Rog, I'm sure you'll handle this event perfectly...

The kid testing positive and/or admitting to joining in (seems possible) would be a whole new level for this type of thing in the NFL.

Regardless, that is a dumb and horrific story.
