Colts are still easily more probable than not to win the division I think.

They just have to beat Houston at home to clinch all two way divisional tiebreakers and there's a reasonable chance Luck is back by then. They also get the Titans at home in the last week, after Luck should be back. Those games aren't locks, but they'll be favored in both. If they win both they're at six wins, which means they probably only need to find one more win in order to win the division. No one else is very likely getting to 8 wins.

Then, pray to every deity you can find that they win a home game and find their way to New England for a round two playoff game that will be very happy fun times for all.

FWIW hasselbeck has played better than luck in a smallish sample size.

Yeah, I can't see them winning in Atlanta with Matt Hasselbeck.

FO has the Falcons ranked 14th. The Falcons defense is actually decent this year, and I don't think the Colts defense can keep Julio and Freeman in check for 60 minutes.
Falcons defense has been playing better this year. However, the offensive line has looked pretty terrible over the past few games. Furthermore, even in several of their wins, the falcons struggled and had to come from behind. This will likely be a close game.

Two weeks ago, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported that Colts quarterback Andrew Luck had been playing with multiple rib fractures. The league immediately said it would look into whether the Colts had violated the injury-reporting rules.

As of Sunday, the investigation continues.

It’s unclear why it has taken this long, and how much longer it will take. Given Indy’s involvement in the instigation of the #DeflateGate scandal, however, it’s not going to be easy for the NFL to brush this one under the rug.

The Colts have declined comment on the situation, but it’s believed they’ll claim that they didn’t believe it was necessary to disclose the rib injury because it was a shoulder problem, not a rib problem, that was keeping Luck from playing earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Luck is currently out with a lacerated kidney and an abdominal injury, which the team voluntarily disclosed eight days before its next injury report was due.

Maybe I missed this somewhere else, but I am assuming this has now been completely brushed under the rug, right?

Matt Hasselback is 4-1 as a starting quarterback and the Colts are 6-7 on the season. Just mentioning this here as something to keep in mind the next time someone brings up the Patriots record in 2008 when discussing Brady versus Manning. That was the year Brady got hurt and Matt Cassel was starting in his place.

Can you elaborate more as I'm afraid your point has been completely lost on me. More my fault than yours I'm certain.

I happen to think Luck is incredibly overrated and am not surprised in the least at their performance with him sidelined.

2008 was Brady's ACL year. Team went 11-5 still. This means Tom Brady is only as good as Matt Cassel and a lesser QB than Peyton despite 11-5 being -5 wins from the year prior.

Right. This was a common point that the Manning side (Colts fans a lot of times) of the Manning versus Brady argument often brought up. The idea was that Brady couldn't be a great player if his team did so well when he was hurt.

Just enjoying the suck of the Colts season even as they most likely make the playoffs.

Hoo-hoo-hoo hoosier land.

I'd say it's less than 50% right now. They have the Texans next week, which will probably decide the division. The Texans are a much better team right now. And it's possible that the Colts will be starting Charlie Whitehurst. They're in deep shit.

You're right. After the first few weeks I thought BOB was a dead coach walking too. Great turnaround. But here's hoping they choke on their own shit tonight.

Well, the Patriots didn't tank a season.
Somehow, with no advance notice that Brady would be out the Patriots had a much better QB situation than the Colts who knew for months that Manning would be out. Well, that's overstating it but some NFL teams have since tried to use Cassel. Nobody's tried to use Curtis Painter, have they?

I wasn't watching today; when I saw the IND-JAX score, I assumed it was a typo.

Glad it wasn't. What a mess the Colts are.

Is it Whitehurst on Sunday for the division if Luck can't go? Hasselbeck has a rib injury and is probably not available.

Houston now 1-13 all time in Indy. Fuck you, Ryan Grigson
Yup.

In five years that guy is going to be a failed pro OL and a failed GM and out of the game. And Belichick is still going to be a legendary coach and Hall of Famer.

And both know it. Belichick doesn't even need to notice Grigson. Grigson is in over his head, with the Richardson trade being a low point that this years' poor record will push even lower. Grigson will end up as a footnote to the story of the Pats' run of success.

Edit: normally i dont embrace schadenfreude but here it is richly deserved.

Losing to a Brandon Weeden led Texans team at home was certainly a deserved pile of shit for this terrible franchise.

Karma Chameleon continues.

Dallas, Atlanta, Indy, Baltimore. When the Giants get eliminated, with hopefully the wunderkind suspended, we'll have a ring for each finger. Houston and Carolina remain on the list.

What did Dallas do? Haven't Jerry Jones and Bob Kraft been at least cooperating rival owners for a while? I can't keep up.

I think people would point to the fact that Jerry backed the commissioner, completely ignoring the fact that Kraft backed the commissioner when he fucked the Cowboys in the uncapped year punishment fiasco. Not a Cowboy fan, but Jerry had every right to react the way he did.

Someone may want to mention that they were 0-2 vs. AFCE teams not named Patriots, with one game still to go.

Yes, there is some Bawb karma too. Kraft supported Goodell taking the pipe to the Cowboys and Washington. And he threw Roger a lifeline during a pivotal moment of Ray Rice. The biggest fanboy would not deny these things.

It needs to be a positive. I'd suggest something like " played gritty, all in football in a loss to Brandon Weeden."

More fun with karma! Hilton talking out of school...

Edit adding MONEY QUOTE:

“We’re not really using us: Donte [Moncrief], me, Phillip [Dorsett]. We’re fast guys and we’re not going down the field how we’re supposed to,” Hilton said, per the Indy Star. “We’re running stick routes, chain routes. I mean, you can do that, but at some point, you have to take your shots.”

Hilton was talking directly about the plan instituted by offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski.

The throws have been there, but we just haven’t been calling them,” Hilton said. “It’s more the play calling.”

Entering the "Moloch" portion of the season where rudderless losing franchises start to devour their own. This will be delightful.
Kull, I'm seriously impressed with your knowledge of "Avodah Zora." I'd accordingly add that the Colts have entered the Moloch phase of the season having negotiated their way through the "Baal Peor" phase of the season in which they have played like crap.
