Quite the costly win, with Luck getting hurt and Anderson likely gone for the year. All for a game that won't matter a lick come end of the season standings (except for the Pats and Denver!)

If I'm Luck's agent, I tell Irsay that Luck's not playing again this year until he is 100% healthy, and that that will be his approach going forward until the team puts together a competent o-line. Thanks to the franchise tag, Luck doesn't have much contract leverage for the next few years, but he'd be crazy to let the team continue to get him killed. It's like 1998-2001 Drew Bledsoe all over again.

Shit if the Colts were smart they wouldn't play Luck at all until the last game or two of the year to get him some reps for the playoffs. They are basically locked into the four seed and no one in that crap division is gonna come close to catching them. Might as well make sure he is 100% healthy for January.

Sure but there were several plays in that game - including the one where they are saying he got hurt - where he was running and easily could have slid and not taken the hit. Luck should use his head.

For a second, I thought you meant their third string QB, Colt Anderson. That would have really killed their swinging gate depth.

Although I don't know the severity of the injury, I would be surprised if Luck is ready to come back from a lacerated kidney in 2-3 weeks. My guess is he won't be ready to come back until 4-6 weeks. Colts have a bye this week so maybe he only misses three games but that would likely be the best case scenario.

Jags go Ravens, Titans, Chargers, Titans.

All about the Jags Express.

So basically he could be out for 3 weeks, they could still win both games they play, and be 6-5 when he returns @ Pitt.

9-7 still seems likely.
You think?

Most likely they go 1-2 (losing @ ATL & PIT and winning vs. TB) so they'll be 5-7 heading into those final 4 games. Even when he's back there is simply no way Luck will be at 100% for those games, so I think 8-8 is still the most likely.

Well I meant 3 weeks as in bye, ATL, and TB, and ATL and TB both suck, so I could definitely see Hasselbeck winning both. Then even with a loss @ Pitt, they are 6-6 heading into the final 4, which is @ Jax, vs. Hou, @ Mia, vs. Tenn. They should sweep those 4 games. Even if they lose to Atlanta they may still win 9 games.

Given their past accuracy how do you think the Colts will list him on the injury report now--"Probable, Finger" or perhaps "Questionable, Hip"?

The DFG curse knows no bounds - thanks for beating Denver, now go suck your way into the playoffs, Indy. What a wild season with so much polarity.

Didn't Keenan Allen just go on IR with a lacerated kidney? Was his, like, more lacerated than Luck's or something?
Probably. Kidney has two sacs. Just a scratch on the outer one and it could be a few weeks. Puncture the inner one and it could be IR. Not all ruptured kidneys are created equal.

You guys really think Luck lacerating his kidney is karma? Shouldn't we have wished for something more painful or crippling long-term, or maybe for Pagano's cancer to come back. This is football we're talking about after all.

No, karma dictates that Pagano coach the Colts for a generation.

Who is winning > 5 games in that division besides Indy?
Is Indy even going to get to 5 wins? They don't really have a lock on that schedule, even in their own division and especially without Luck.

The division may suck, but anything can happen in divisional contests. Somebody has to win them. And Indy isn't the lock to win them all like they used to be. I'll take the collective because it gives me 3 chances to Indy's 1.

Indy has won like 16 straight division games. Until they lose one, they are the CLEAR favorite. I think you are overestimating that division.

I am not a betting/gambling guy, but I'm pretty sure just expecting a trend to continue because it has always been, is bad process.

How many of the games in a row were won with Luck at QB?

People see the record and forget that the Jaguars absolutely should have won that game in Indy, and only lost because of their kicker.

Indy's still winning that division, but I can't see them winning @ATL or @PIT, which would make them 5-7 assuming they beat TB at home.

Would be hilarious/horrible if they get to rest their players Week 17 because they've clinched the AFC South at 7-8.

You can't see them winning @ Atl? The same Atl who has gone:
L 31-21 @ Saints
W 10-7 @ Titans
L 23-20 vs. Bucs
L 17-16 @ Niners
in their last 4 games?

Yeah, I can't see them winning in Atlanta with Matt Hasselbeck.

FO has the Falcons ranked 14th. The Falcons defense is actually decent this year, and I don't think the Colts defense can keep Julio and Freeman in check for 60 minutes.
