2015-16 NIT: the Europa League thread

And to make it worse, Spurs/Dortmund is on full ESPN Deportes, so I think I'd need that channel to stream the Spanish broadcast, instead of it being ESPN3 and a free stream like most Europa games are.

I might need to listen to a radio broadcast of this game.

Or work during my workday, heaven forfend.
It's not rocket surgery, it's VIPbox.tv! You learn how to close the usual pop-over ads without closing the streaming window, and you're good.

Spurs/Dortmund at 1pm ET, United/Liverpool at 3pm. If I didn't have a second monitor to put the game on, I'd get jack squat done during work today.

Oh, totally could just use a pirate stream, but there's enough creepy porno ads on this that it inches past the limits of my professionalism given my office's visibility.

Might still do it if Spurs aren't getting murdered after the first half, which I kinda expect now with the lineup they put out.

BAM! Great buildup after the set piece, good timing and placement from Aubameyang and it´s 1-0 Dortmund!
(Reporter said he has 33 goals in 38 matches on the season.)

Spurs improved central midfield of this year (Dier/Dembele) extremely conspicuous by its absence, while the improved CBs have kept the match close.

Uargh...Aubameyang had to shoot instead of passing (maybe he was shooting) and Gonzalo Castro had to lay it back, instead of shooting it from that ankle...

And Bender should better not foul like that in the box. There were penalties given for less contact.

Not surprisingly, Spurs' second-choice team is not good enough to compete with Dortmund on the road. Mason/Carroll is not a CM partnership that can succeed against top teams and Trippier is having a very poor game, with every goal set up by a cross from his side.

I've got Liverpool-United on ESPN3. This is a flashback to the old days before NBC bought the rights, watching 2 English teams playing against each other with Spanish commentary.

Cards are starting to fly, and apparently this ref sends off people pretty regularly. I'll be surprised if it ends 11 on 11.

A good old fashioned blood and thunder British tempo. None of that European technical crap. In a bar with 8 man utd fans and 4 Liverpool fans... I'm the only neutral.

That was a performance worthy of a European night at Anfield. The Mancs are lucky to still be in the tie, if anything 2-0 flatters them.

I've seen some reports that Fellaini threw an elbow into Can's face right before the full-time whistle that was missed by the officials, so there may be some further punishment coming before the second leg.

That wasn't an elbow, that was a cleating on the foot, followed by an Emre Can flop. He might've elbowed Can if Can hadn't flopped first, but his head was no longer in the vicinity.

I bet no punishment.

So, Liverpool vs. Manchester United, in a knockout tie, playing a night game...on St. Patrick's Day.

What could go wrong?

Alberto Moreno apparently pulled up lame in training yesterday - Flanagan is ineligible for Europa, so we may see Milner or Brad Smith at LB (or Clyne with Milner on the right).

Looks like Lazio are going out they're down 2-0 at home to Sparta Prague (the first leg was 1-1). This, combined with Juve's collapse yesterday is helpful for England keeping their 4th champions league spot.

Understated but unbelievable one-handed save on Coutinho by De Gea along with rebound control kept it from being a 3-0 aggregate early.

I love when Fox Sports Go buffers for 30 seconds, then starts playing, then at a critical moment decides to skip forward to live.

ESPN3 in Spanish is better than Fox in English.

Easily.

The BT Sport feed I'm streaming off is showing the faces of assorted United fan. Just glorious.

He always has the ability in him, but his consistency is lacking.

There's been a ton of burden on him to generate offense with Sturridge frequently injured and before Firmino's emergence, I think he's settling into a better rhythm now though.
