Rob started off with a par on #1 so he's 1 better than yesterday already. Though #1 was his #10 yesterday so, you know. Things are, like, different and stuff.

Cut right now is +4 but that should go up and likely fall somewhere between +5 and +7. So he'll need stay around even par for the day to make the weekend. No higher than a 73 I would think.

If it happened right now it would be at +3.  T60 and ties.

Edit:  if I was +6 I would hop on the plane, +5 I'd make a reservation.

Man, this is shaping up to be a pretty boring weekend. But it's the Open, so a collapse isn't out of the question. I like Kaymer, he's one guy I always root for, but I'm hoping he collapses tomorrow.

The only way this is competitive is if Kaymer implodes.  No one will be able to catch him if he merely plays 1 or 2 over for the rest of the tournament.

Yep, the driver is the bane of his existence.  He's an all world putter, literally (finished number 2 on the Nationwide tour a couple years back), but when his driver gets messy, it can get ugly in a hurry unless he putts himself out of trouble, but that's tough to do at this place the way it's set up.

What?

If Kaymer goes +2, for example and finishes at -8 and Kevin Na, for example, shoots 3 or 4 under today all he'll need to do is shoot 2 or 3 under over Saturday and Sunday.

If Kaymer shoots anything under par tomorrow, I think it's all but locked in, but this thing is far from over.

Yeah, plenty of time left. Lot's of good players on the course now that are E or better. It wouldn't surprise me if someone in that group posted a 67 or 66 today. They'll still be 5-6 shots back, but 36 holes is a lot of golf.

Zomp, when did you see him? What was going on?  I'm stuck in the office, so I didn't catch it.  But yes, he and his brother look like twins, although Rob is a bit smaller.

Na and Todd get to -4. Let's see if one of them can get within 5 going into the weekend.

Haha, Phil misses another one from 3 feet.

So Mahan played his partner's ball, was assessed a 2 stroke penalty, and will miss the cut due to that penalty.  Andy North went off on him, and rightly so.  That's inexcusable.
And Jamie Donaldson then played Mahan's ball and got the hit too.

Weather warning while the sky looks amazingly blue. I hope they get this wrapped up before the storm. I'm rooting for anyone named Kaymer tomorrow.

Kaymer is now 1/2 to win on bovada.  Is this free money, or would I be a colossal idiot to throw money at this?

Yeah, that doesn't look like a great bet. They are begging you to take him. This isn't to say he's not going to win but that is not a good value. If it was Sunday, different story. But there are 36 holes left.
