Whenever it gets to the point where they have more of them than people who want them, then they would need to make decisions to encourage more people to buy them. But, until that point, it doesn't seem there's much reason for the Red Sox to give up extra money.

Not exactly. If I give up my pack, nobody else is getting the opportunity to buy the same pack.
I think the discussion was more around certain packs taking on more of a % increase based on what was in the pack. Which again, I'm perfectly willing to pay. I don't have to be happy about it.
