Well you saved me from having to pick him and actually root for him.

I'm stunned someone took Vijay - I was trying to talk TFP into him because, honestly, he's a really good pick in the 8th round. When he's on, he's really good and he seems to be playing well right now.

Yeah, once Dirt McGirt was taken, Vijay seemed like he was worth a shot in the 8th round. He gets to play a couple majors, and has been making cuts, so why not?

I don't know, but this year was much tougher than last year. I am glad I am not doing the power rankings because I don't see too many clear favorite teams.

Well this guy says he wants to play on the PGA tour, and is looking for exemptions, big or small.  Plus he will likely make most of the majors.  So maybe he plays 8-12 events,   Next year he'll be a top 30-40 pick

Throwing a dart against the wall here. Had McGirt, Singh, Hicks, and Jimenez on my list figuring one would fall.

Complete roll of the dice here on a local kid who plays on the European tour, but says he plans on working in more American events into his schedule this season. He's into a few WGC's, and qualified for at least the British Open. He may even add some more events in the US if he finds himself under consideration for the US Ryder Cup team. He may not get me a single point, but whatever, we're scraping the bottom of the barrel. It's an 8th round pick, worst comes to worst I drop him for some scrub after the Memorial.

I have no idea why but I feel much better about my team this year than last.  I think it may have to do with the fact that I watched more golf last year because of this league and understand a bit better how the golfers impact the scoring.

That said, if Dustin is mediocre again I am screwed.

Yeah, we're all likely to get a lesson in year to year variation this year. I looked back at some of the guys I chose last year (Overton, Owen, Molder) and they seemed like locks to at least make a boatload of cuts if not contend with top 10s, and they all turned some form of pumpkin. The margin of error for these guys is so small, it's really tough to know how predictive past performance really is. Makes this a lot more fun.

There's always add/drop time. He wasn't that awful for me last year, but he didn't earn enough to not have to burn another exemption this year.

I think I'm going to post one too.

But I'm not sure if mine will be based on who I think will finish the year on top, or who will win the most money.  For example, I think 4 Peters and RandyWatson have very strong major teams but I'm not sure their teams will play enough to be in it til the end.

I'm not sure it is either.  But if last year's performances were totally predictive of this year's, this would be a whole lot easier.  The last round is about grabbing a long shot, and I like him as a long shot.

Agree completely, which is why he was on my radar this year.  He also has a shitload of talent.  And I've met him and like the guy, so I root for him.

The problem is that he's now missed four cuts in a row at the beginning of this year - although this year does stretch back into last year in the world of the PGA.  And these are some of the "softer" fields on the schedule.

Too risky.

The 2 cuts he made he did finish 15 and 26 so there is potential there. Yes they were softer fields but too risky for pick number 156? Is there such a thing?

All relative to what's on the board.

Of course, I'm the moron who took Anthony ("Should be back by March") Kim in the last round a year ago, so take that for what it's worth.

They're almost ready - as soon as the draft ends, I'll put the finishing touches on it and then post it in the trash talk thread.

Sweet, I'll put something up as well. Maybe you Zomp and I should have a side bet where we see who comes closest to the year end standings.

Going to finish up with another guy that plays a ton of events, and his first name is an added bonus:  GREG CHALMERS

I really like my team's chances this year moreso than last, mostly because I don't think I threw away my first round pick (Zach Johnson) like I did last year (Carl Petterson), and my second round pick (Charles Howell III) will at least play more than half the tournaments unlike Steve Stricker did for me last (although Stricker ended up being a pretty good pick when all was said and done).  Last year, I had 1 win out of my entire team (Ken Duke) and won the weekly title here once, in a different week.  I hope to at least double those results this year.

Anyway, it's a ton of fun.  Thanks to Zomp and the others that deal with the logistics, and good luck to you all.

This is going to be so much more fun for me this year, solely because of the amount of events that my guys will play.  Last year, I was lucky each week to have 3-4 guys playing, whereas this year, I think I'll probably have at least 6 in almost every event.  This week, I've got 6 guys playing, and they are currently T4th, T21st, T21st, T21st, T45th, and T45th.  This week would already be more exciting for me than pretty much all but a couple of events from last season.

Yeah that was a conscious decision of mine to go strong in the majors and WGC events. I feel my team is much more dependable in those events while still being competitive in some other events. The random events with the watered down fields can be such a crapshoot (and a crapshoot I lost over and over last year) that I figured I'd go high risk, high reward.

My biggest regret was not taking Fernandez-Castano instead of Summerhays. I could have got Summerhays or Lingmert on the way back and thing GFC has much higher upside and fits my major heavy team better.

I love Tommy Two Gloves. Sadly I bought a very poor season from him last year,  I wish you better luck

How bad was my team last year,   3 of my original group didn't get drafted this year (D.H. Lee, Paul Haley III, Robert Karlsson),  and Tommy Gainey went dead last.

Just to document here, so I am a fool one way or another.

Almost pulled the trigger on Michael Kim in the 6th/7th round.  I really wanted to,  and he shot a 70 at Torrey,  so I was ready to pick him,  but by my 7th round pick came he was +4 on the second day on his way to an 80,   so I just couldn't pull the trigger.
