“It was pretty obvious,” said Rose, who took a double-bogey-5 on the hole and missed the cut by a stroke. “I wanted them to verify that it wasn’t a triple hit. After what happened at TPC I wanted to make sure.”

Not calling an obvious penalty on yourself would be far worse for him than the value of a low cash.

FYI, I think the results for this week are messed up on the spreadsheet. My draft position total seems right, but I think the cells on the spreadsheet for this week's event on the sheet are off.

Yeah, it's definitely off.  I'm pretty sure TheFourPeters won this week, and he probably had the 26 points that Zomp is currently shown as having, whereas I think it has me with 14, when my team only made 3.  The draft order does seem right though, which is strange.

Damn right I did. About time I won a week in this league.

I'm fully prepared to wait another season and a half before my next win.

Ugh, I only have 3 right now. I didn't pick up Bjorn because I thought Grace was playing the US Open and Bjorn dropped out. Now it looks like Grace isn't anywhere on the field list.

I done fucked up.

Crane's win this weekend didn't even get him in the Open. I have 3 guys. My expectations are tempered.
The win only brought him to 101 in the OWGR. The top 60 to get a spot. The Open isn't win and in, the bulk of the field is essentially the top 60 in the rankings, or qualifying the sectionals.

That was a Herculean effort by my team this weekend. I am shocked I'm not in last place and I'm more shocked my team has been able to win a week. Luke Donald has be so horrific this year, I might have to send him a sternly worded letter noting his poor play.

Yup. That was a great win by Crane and maybe he can keep it going for the rest of the year. It's probably better he's not in the Open, as nothing would destroy his confidence like shooting 82, 79 at Pinehurst and losing all the positives he gained from this past weekend.

Almost everyone has a weekly win now. I think there are 5 people who haven't found the top of the board in a week. That's pretty good parity.

Nice to see Nick Watney performing well at the Open.

And yes, that's sarcasm ...

I am shocked he fell off the cliff in the manner he did. I thought he had a pretty solid swing. But he's awful.

Still can't believe how well Na is playing this year....if he did half this well last year I would've ran away with the title

Yeah, he's had a really nice turnaround season. That said, if my Aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle. :)

Well having 7 guys in the field apparently doesn't mean a thing...looking at like one guy making it right now

OK turns out the reverse jinx worked and I ended up with a handful but a cool thing happened to the guy on my team that finished near the bottom...Kevin kisner....knowing he was out of it with a couple of holes to play, he brought his dad out of the stands to carry his bag for the final holes... Good stuff around fathers day

I should take a grinder here, but I'm gonna take a flyer on a resurgence and hopefully a few more events for MARTIN KAYMER.

I like Kaymer a lot and strongly considered taking him with my last pick.  (The fact that he's qualified for all the majors is a plus.)  Then I remembered his absolute inability to play well on weekends last year and the fact that he can't wean himself from the European Tour and ... I just couldn't do it.

With all that said, I would not be surprised if he has a monster year.  He has serious talent - just needs to put it together for four rounds at a time.

I would be surprised. He's been unreliable for a few years now.

He made the cut in 14 of 17 PGA events last year, and has 3 top tens in his last 9 PGA events. I would be perfectly happy if I got the same production out of him this year as last (as a 4th round pick), but I think it's pretty reasonable to expect even better in his second year.

Papelbon's Poutine told me to expect big things.

I was away for most of the weekend - daughter's college graduation, what can you do? - so I didn't get to see much action.  But I figured I needed to come here and take my medicine on this, as Kaymer has finally become the player I thought he was when I took him last year.  (And before I lost my nerve this drafting period.)

Congrats WBV.

I came in here to bitch about my first round pick, Luke Donald. He has made 9 of 11 cuts and 3 top 10's. He's made 1.3 million bucks this year. Seems like he's doing much worse, mainly b/c he shot a 79 in his first round at Augusta and a 77 in his first round at Pinehurst.

So his two missed cuts were in majors. He has been pretty weak but not horrifically bad, I guess. He needs to pick it up right now, though. 48th in fedex points, so he certainly was not worth a 20th pick.

edit - he has only played in 11 events. That's a low number, which doesn't help matters.

Yeah, it's too bad Nick Watney was off the board when you picked at 20.

Just wanted to throw this out there....in addition to the travelers this week, everyone should head to Rhode island for some more top notch golf. Wed-sat the best young talent comes to wannamoisett for the northeast amateur and then a slew of pros (including 3 on my fantasy team) head to RI country club Sun-tues for the CVS Charity classic..a great event that I have not missed in about 8 years

Yeah, well welcome to the Club.   I took him in the top 10 the previous year, and he stunk out the tour in 2013 finishing 55th on the fed ex cup standings.   I was Stunned you took him so high this year, because after last year's complete collapse i was expecting him to fall into the 3rd or 4th round range

I'm certainly not going to compete this week, but glad to see that I've already netted at least a point by dropping Brad Fritsch and picking up Brice Garnett. Fritsch has really fallen off a cliff.
